A 33' boat should be easily twice as heavy as your boat, meaning your are several times heavier then necessary. The 1 by stock for cabinetry suggest just this. No, I don't think you'll plane. I think you'll have hulls very deeply immersed, because you've under estimated full up weight and a big block Chevy with big HP and heavy reduction, might get you up on plane, spinning a big wheel, but an outboard will likely just...

I have an other question Maslento, did you read finally the thread or you find yourself with to many time in your hand and find very useful to insult me. You don't know me, so keep quiet, and keep your drug shit to yourself. You never started a thread, you insulted the US in one of your post while living in Chile, coward, you don't design boat, you have no clue how to behave in the forum, you stink the oportunist with a lot of non...

I had at one time a device that kind of clamped on wire rigging. It was sold by Sampson as well. Now I dont know how or why it worked, but as you tensioned the stay a mechanical meter went up in pounds. Im betting that have something like this for synthetic as well. K9

Boson, I am no expert, but may I suggest you sit and think for a while? You are postulating that you use a diesel engine to generate electricity to drive an electric motor to drive a propeller???? why add the electric generator and electric motor and consequent losses of around .8 each? No advantage unless you have other critical uses for the electricity generated? - - Additional power required to get up in top of the water and plane that...

RAOs are not that tricky, especially if you use standard ITTC formulae for a developed sea. But again, better to obtain a spectrum of the intended sea conditions. But you need to know the unit response of "bodies" at certain frequencies and amplitudes. That is the tricky part. Model tests are using the best.

I thank you, Par. Your comments are well-meant, and undoubtedly good advice on top of it. Unfortunately, nothing I've seen is exactly what I want in the way of a lake and river boat for weekends, as opposed to a cruiser or live-aboard.
For example, Chessie Flyer is a very nice boat. But it's a little beamy for a flat-bottom boat with sharp chines, particularly for a double ender. I don't ...

A photo would help. Am I right in assuming that you have the gbm-18 floor or table mounted? And, you are feeding the material? I prefer the "bug" bevellers, like the gullco kat, great for out-of-position (in the field) cuts/bevels. I don't have time to read the specs/brochure. Does this unit have feeder rolls? I watched the video and know that I wouldn't be happy with a beveller rolling along the...

when you have twin motors you usually go about 2 in pitch larger than the
single engine set up ....so you need to check the wot revs and work from
there ...there could be a rev limiter on these motors so check that wit
hthe makers first

Like any flat bottom hull, it will pound more than a V. Except for that there is nothing wrong. The draft will be less than a round hull. Pedal boats are usually designed like that.

Whale is a brand of bilge pump I know - I know the name best from the
manual hand operated gusher pumps; they also make electric bilge pumps. I'd
be most worried if there were any a little bit of accidental water ending
up in that non-draining compartment that would sit there forever. If you're
ever holed, you will have to deal with a lot of water coming in.

If you are not experienced figuring out how much to charge is the least of your problems. A semi-displacement boat of that size to go into production would take five people six months. That is not taking into account fancy interiors.

DNV, LLoyds, German LLoyd, BV are providing the "standards" for small boats. ABS does´nt.
There are no building permits or something equivalent. Not in car or airplane manufacturing also! But the products have to be approved. (which in consequence can mean having "certified" staff)
But in general every one armed monkey can setup a boatyard.

I find it hard to believe you don't see any difference sailing upwind with or without the board down. Don't you notice the leeway angle increasing? What do you mean the keel bolts were not drilled well at the factory?

Welcome Kim,
looking at, yes why not? Any new idea can be a valuable addition to the existing range of designs / styles.
Hiring is a different pair of shoes. Because of the complexity of Naval Architecture, a plain sketch with a nice styling, is not a buildable yacht.
A substantial understanding of the related science is a must.
On the other hand, there are quite a lot of so named "yacht ...

For that sort of power to weight you should consider a hydroplane type of hull and surface prop or better still an air prop if you want to get the best speed possible. Using an air prop overcomes all the cavitation problems you get with things in the water.
Treat it as more a plane than a boat. The water just provides a reference. Keeping it aerodynamically stable will be the challenge. It...
