After CS's supply of Carbon V dried up, the company began making its Recon Tantos from AUS8 stainless, and though I think AUS8 is fine for folders, I wondered if anyone, having owned and used each knife, had any insights they can offer. Also, if anyone has the newer AUS8 version and has given it a good field testing, how did it hold up in edge retention and in strength? Some Recons managed...

In movies and such you once in a while see a character wearing a pair of shoes that when pressure is applied in a certain way (i assume, correct me if you know better) a hidden blade extends from the tip of the footwear. Now I have no real use for this but find myself intrigued on how this would be made, and would like to try and make a shoe/boot that could do this as a project. So i come here ...

I know, knives are not the best for self defence. I would rather have a 1911 and a full clip, better yet fast legs to run away. However if you found yourself in a bad spot and could not avoid confrontation which folder would you most like to have? for me it woud be a 1) ZT-300, 2) cqc - 12 3) benchmade 710 4) bladetech Rajbak

These are my Babies...I bought them back in 2005 as small baby plants in 4" pots. I have grown them on my deck and moved them indoors as house plants in the winter. They are very versitile plants. They like sun and shade and also can withstand the gloomy Midwestern winters. They produce fewer leaves in the winter but the continue to grow. They are happiest in warm weather as they are zone 9 ...

Well,, I just finished my second test of comparing edge holding abilities between a s30v Spyderco Manix and a Victorinox Tinker stainless steel which I have been told is very similar to 440-B. The test I conducted was a simple one in which I started with both knives equaly sharp and cut up an equal amount of cardboard between the two knives.
