Latest...looks like Boyles playing. Their d is still exploitable. Dan Boyle will be in the lineup tonight when the Sharks take on the Blackhawks despite missing the past two days of practice, "maintenance" time after a shot struck him in the skate Saturday night. "Too big of a game," he said of the matchup of the Western Conference's two top teams. "Can't miss that." Boyle...

Well maybe if he didn't have the reputation of a goon he doesn't get sucker punched. Every situation is different.

But he stopped AT LEAST eight other very good scoring chances that night. I wouldn't call those bad goals, but they certainly weren't the best chances he saw all night. Huet won that game, that team fell apart in front of him, I saw it first hand.

Is that the official press release? I just figured it to be either Adam's Intern killing time while earning his/her degree - or perhaps the owner's kid of the Bottom Lounge on Lake Street.

HESCORES wrote: If anything, if the Hawks truly wanted to free up Campbell's cap hit and they couldn't move him, I think you put him on waivers and send him down to the AHL. Yes, they'd still have to pay him, but he wouldn't count against the cap. Then, at some point, some team will come calling and it will become one of the most lopsided trades in history. Well of course, if someone would actually trade something for him,...

The other option, shudder, is to dig deeper into the bonus cushion...but beware, as it comes off next year's cap number.

What will we be with Hossa?

Budi wrote: Hawks' forward lines from Wednesday's morning skate: Kane - Toews - Hossa Sharp - Versteeg - Byfuglien Ladd - Madden - Brouwer Eager - Fraser - Kopecky Pretty good 4 lines. I do like your Burish-Buff-Eager line though Budi. I think we save that one for the teams that are going to run our young dudes. A good option that doesn't mean we sacrifice large to put them together.

It's time to compliment Q. I wish him a long and very successful tenure with the hawks with awards and cups everywhere.

another argument based on stats. Marty was good for the hawks. I'll remember what he did for the team on a supposed checking line.

New Jersy has given up fewer goals but has played one less game. Hawks are
#1 in goals against average. Maybe somebody in New Jersey is blaming
Brodeur.

Both teams sport a 12-5-2 record.
In the only head-to-head matchup at the UC, Calgary took a 5-0 lead only to blow it 6-5 in OT.
Calgary is 6-4-1 at home this season, Chicago is 2-3-1 on the road.
The Flames average 3.12 goals a game, the Blackhawks 2.84. Conversely, the Flames give up 2.55 while the 'Hawks allow the 2nd best GAA of 2.27.
A 3-2 game is seems to be written in the ...

The rule itself is really complicated. When I first read it, I thought it did not apply to the Hawks until after Dec. 1st. It turns out, that would only be in
the case of signing a UFA, not their own players.
If the tagging rule does apply, you are able to subtract all expiring contracts from the "tagged" amount. The author's math seems way off to me.
If I am reading it right, the Hawks have ...
