Wirelessly posted (8820) Welcome to the group! Don't apologize. Did the battery pull fix it? It usually fixes most odd problems and is the first thing to try, but many don't know that.

There's not a way to disable that. Why do you say it is, where have you noticed that you can't use the volume controls keys?

Have you check the DOWNLOADS, APPLICATIONS and INSTANT MESSAGING folders?
Have you check hidden icons?
Have you looked for them after changing the theme?

1. a) At Options > Screen/Keyboard, I use:
Tap - 450
Hover - 800
Swipe - 5
And, normally when possible, landscape full keyboard. Suretype in portrait.

3. No screen protector. Naked. I've been a STRONG proponent of them for ALL devices, until the Storm. I've never gotten my 9530 scratched in a year of use. The screen is practically scratchproof.

Nice looking but it does have its drawbacks. For me, the one show stopper that I know of is no sync to Outlook for contacts and calendar info. I know that I can use Google and I do for calendar, but I really need the Outlook integration.
Planning to do a review of it? Please keep us updated on how you use it, how you like it and the pluses and minuses.

Be glad that your curve is still alive. I also recommend getting an insurance, I think it's worth it.

Gotta disagree with you on that. Do you really want to read a book on a tiny screen?
That would be Amazon deal, wouldn't it?

I don't think this is an issue for most of RIM's customers. They never designed their devices as multimedia powerhouses as their core audience has traditionally been business users. The new devices have plenty of memory for most users. And keeping your media on a media storage card really helps alleviate the strain of keeping all but a ridiculous number of third-party programs.

I must say that first time posters are not very bright either.
Wow.
Is it that hard to change the time? My watch doesn't change time.
And, if the bright first time poster had noticed, that feature (automatically resetting time zones) is in handheld OS 5.0.
But us "not very bright" BB defenders probably knew that already.

Hey michaelalanjones, not sure if you've seen my article on the 5.0.0.238, - My Report On The BlackBerry Bold OS 5.0 « Kirrin Jones - if not could you check it out and see if there are any difference? I've decided not to bother doing another upgrade until the official release, as the .238 runs really great and I'm getting excellent performance from my device. But I'm just curious.
Thanks

Them file types are for installation. You don't need DM to MOVE files. Make sure your card is in Mass Storage Mode. When you connect to your pc it will then show up as a removeable drive. Click into it and copy and paste.
