Sounds to me like the thermostat as your mechanic has said, the cap wouldnt cause it to overheat....but worth changing if its old..as for the waterpump that will be going shortly as the cooling systems always seem to want an overhaul around the 100k mark..and dont forget the expansion tank...

I don't have a link unfortunately, there may be one if you search E46Fanatics.com. As for the flappers, you don't need to remove the whole dash. You should be able to get to them from the driver and passenger foot wells. Just go in from each side.

I was reading this a few days ago. I believe the GTS name gas roots in Europe - anyone know what they are? Nice weight reduction on the rear seats but I wouldve kept the AC maybe (although the obvious point in this track ready car is obvious - we ALL turn off the AC when we race for max power!). 500ish lbs is a ton of weight indeed. I'd like to see some video. I did not care for the oversized rear wing. You would think that in a car like...

I don't have one, but really the only way I'd ever see myself mounting one is in the bottom left corner of the windshield.

Try swapping your bulbs out for some new ones; sometimes even a slight bit of corrosion on the bulbs might trigger the warnings even though it isn't actually enough to stop it from working.
That or it could be the brake light switch failing.

hmmm...i would only lower it a little bit.
the stock height for a 325 isn't very high anyway (a little lower always looks good).
for the interior...i would say go for Gucci.
lol.
but on a serious note, are you going to repaint the vehicle? if so, what color?

Once upon a time, about 3 years ago, this 40ish something year old man was getting his Auto Enthusiast itch back!
It was at least 20 years since he had his hands on a car that he loved & his days of clunkers & Minivans had to end!
You see, this guy who fully restored a 1972 Chevelle SS in his early 20's never lost his passion for cars, but kinda had to put it on hold for a while. Knowing he ...

to me it would depend on how much money you want to throw into the project...
if you don't mind taking a long time and putting a lot of money into the car...i would say the S50 from the M3.
if you don't want to spend too much, you may consider taking an engine from a 320 or a 325...
...just my 2 cents.

The theory has been shown to have merit. I wouldn't go as far as to call it proven though. In the event that it's true, I would think new fluid would mean an overhaul; that would be close to a new transmission.

Dry it out. Especially the spark plug holes and the ECU. They are both known to get water in them if you are not careful.
