Hang on, 3ft off the ground at 10 feet?? Meaning aimed up? So they are blinding everyone? BMW's spec states for every 10m, 10cm of drop from the top of the housing.

I don't understand what you are trying to do exactly. I pulled my door handles and lock assemblies out of the car and replaced them with another set without door locks.
Its not too complicated, just make sure you take the power off the battery and let the SRS system discharge before you go messing with the door explosives.
