You just have to experiment. Not sure what the relative factors are between a Progress and the Gillette models, but there is a razor by aggressiveness chart in the WIKI. This goes by blade gap, and will give you an idea of relative aggressiveness by that measure. The Fatboy and Slim are about one setting more aggressive than the Super. So a one on those is equal to a 2 on the super, and so on...

You have discovered what many of us know. Every razor shaves a little differently. Add to that the fact that different blades in the same razor will create a different shaving experience as well. The possible combinations are endless. Coming to this realization, you are naturally now curious as to how a NEW would differ from a NEW DELUXE, or how a TECH would differ from a Super Speed. Then ...

never seen one like that. maybe he took it apart to clean, then put it back together upside down and figured he'd try to charge $1k for a "rare" piece.
in all seriousness, regardless of rarity, that does seem a bit, uh, steep.

The first is a NEW as you thought.
The Second is a Goodwill which was made from leftover Old Type and NEW parts with some retooling.
Does the third have any other markings?
Same for the fourth. Any markings on it? The handle design is similar to the Old Type Standard, but the completely flat guard plate and cap are not Gillette normal design.

Gillette still makes TracII carts, so I don't see why Sensor shouldn't be around for a while as well. They may become harder to find and the price will creep up, most likely.
I agree with you that Sensor is the way to go when you use a cartridge.

I've had 6 Plisson's from the grey to the HMW - and the short answer is no. They're nice, and they're different, but they're wildly overpriced.

I'm thankful that my sister is alive.
On October 18th of last year, she went off a 150 foot road embankment with her motorcycle, which landed directly on her chest and pelvis. She broke her back, ribs, pelvis and had many other internal injuries. Thankfully none of the breaks bisected her spinal column, though it was touch and go for the first few weeks. She finally began improving around ...

On top of that, there are better products in the same price range that don't stink, are slicker, and smell nicer... which is reason enough for me to stop using it
