I also distrust my data stored with a 3rd party. I have the same feeling about online backups, although I can see a certain logic to that.

Next time you will know.... Looking good, nice setting for the shop and no one about to complain about the noise. Did you run a sewer line from the shop to the tank for you slop sink? And water out from the house? Bill Always thinking of things for others to do

Then there is the fact that corporations w/ the best intentions still lose data. Like Microsoft's recent fiasco. I guess I wouldn't mind trusting my data to google, as long as I still had a way to plug in a USB drive and back it up myself.

While that is a very fine looking chair, I'm not sure how well that craftsman style will go with the table (if I recall the picture correctly). I think I would be looking for something with a smoother, less angular impression. However, I expect that that chair will look fine as well, particularly when made from the same wood & with the same finish. Good Luck.

of course you know there is no 2-phase. Motors are either 1- or 3-phase.
Should be listed on the motor ID plate. Since you can easily change out motors on a saw the best place to look would be the motor. You might not be able to trust it even if it were listed on the saw body since someone could have changed motors.

Kinda smarmy to make light of this kind of barbarism, but it is hard not to think that some folks are sitting on a gold mine.

Finish the ceiling (or at least insulate) and install fold-down attic stairs. Insulate the rest of the garage as well. Another option is a knockdown room you use for glue-ups, but then you would have to store it when you are not using it.

It is possible that the old T-12 light fixture had a magnetic ballast, so it operated at line frequency and was sine wave based, so it was reasonably "quiet" in an RF sense. The newer T-8 fixture likely has an electronic ballast, and it is switching at a much higher frequency, with square wave switching, which generates lots of harmonics and radio interfering RF noise.
Is the ballast marked...

I wondered about the security code of remote keys.
Something similar: Last week I went to an acquaintance's house in my 2004 Toyota van. I parked beside his 2006 Toyota Van. He was going to show me some places to visit in his town when my family comes from the US (Tomorrow). After returning to his house from the tour, I went to get into my van and I clicked the button to unlock. His van ...

I haven't done it myself, but I've seen Norm do a similiar thing. Use it to put a groove into the face frame and then use a biscuit cutter to cut the slot in the carcass.
That way you don't have to worry about lining up the slot on the frame with the carcass. Think that's pretty slick.

I performed a bit of a test last night. Being a rightie, I was having a sandwich and tried typing with just my left hand. Back in high school, I took a typing class, yeah, that's right. Primarily because the teacher was fresh out of college and was a honey, and the class was all girls (ambient stimuli).
Anyway, I learned to type with both hands, using proper finger placement. But after years...

this roomful of stuff has 1/1,000,000 the power of todays laptop computers and pulls 20 KW to run.
I saw these mostly thru glass windows... didn't get to touch one very often. Those printers were impressively fast, I know you could bury a room in paper if you had a runaway program doing form-feeds.

I'm trying to make my tool manuals a usable (or at least tidy) part of my shop instead of a heap of recyclables gathering sawdust.
Bought a planer from a guy a while back & he plucked the manual out of his shop's filing cabinet & gave it to me, no fuss. Wish I'd asked him his organization method, because every time I try to decide on one I get conceptually crossed-up.
My plan is to do...

I picked up some unfinished maple flooring that was salvaged from a theater ( Habitat for Humanity fundraiser). It's been de-nailed and appears to be mostly unsanded. Its 7/8" thick, 2 1/4 face width. I have 40 square feet, with plenty more available if needed. It's probably 15-20 years old. A lot of it was painted black, but I picked some of the unfinished bundles.
I'd like to build a ...
