Hi, Welcome to B B !
You should be able to build a condition on the object, but it has to go into the having clause. That's what should happen by default. If you can provide more details about the objects you're using and the condition you're trying to create we might be able to help. The more detail you can post, the better.

You could make a common, general class and a single object for this with case statements. The SQL for this object would be something like ( pseudocode)...
Code: Case
when Type = 'ABC' then ABC
when Type = 'XYZ' then XYZ
else 'None'
end case

Did you even try it first? That's a good step to take before posting a question. A derived table contains SQL that is sent to the database as you write it, so I don't see any reason why you can't put a hint at the top of the SQL as you showed in your post.
But try it and see, and you can answer your own question.

A cascading LOV only includes the last selection as part of the where clause. For example, if you had a cascade from year to quarter to month, and you picked 2009 then Q1 and then January, the only thing you will see in the where clause is a restriction for January. You will see January for every year rather than just 2009.
That's the way it works in Webi and Deski. With Crystal you can ...

Have you thought of using case statements for your objects instead of where clauses?

Hi all,
I'm planning to install a cluster BOE XI 3.1 with 2 nodes.
My questions are rather simple...
Do I have to have 2 cms database (one for each node) ?
Do I have to have 2 filestore (one for each node) ?
What are the port range usually used for the cms nodes?
Thanks for your help!

I'm on XI R2 and I'm trying to create a where condition based on user input. DB table has two dates; I need where condition based on date they choose. I tried to create Where clause in universe:
CASE @Prompt('Choose a Date Type','A',{'By Processed Date','By Created Date'},mono,constrained)
WHEN 'By Processed Date' THEN dbo.RMA_SALES_ORDER_DETAILS.ACTUAL_RETURN_DATE
ELSE dbo.RMA...

My five cents on this:
- BOE XI R3.2 knowledge
- Integration with SAP BW including troubleshooting & performance tuning against SAP BW data sources
- Dashboad Design (see: www.perceptualedge.com )
- Xcelsius
