My TPM works perfectly on my '09. It does not register until you hit 20 MPH. I run 38/42 at all times.

Morbidelli, Morbidelli, Morbidelli... If BMW did this it would sell like freakin' hotcakes. What red blooded American (or European) could possibly resist a Cosworth in a motorcycle?? With today's engine management systems, magnetic suspensions and a simple flip of the switch: your choice of a fire breathing full on race bike - for solo riding - or a tractor like torque monster - to take Mom and the trailer along for the ride. Gee, I...

Yes, the current Slant/4 motors use twin balance shafts to dampen harmonic vibrations. One of the biggest advantages to a straight six is the fact that it needs no secondary balancing, which minimizes weight, complexity, and HP losses. And BMW knows a thing or two about straight six motors . . .

Back at ya, PP! I know it's been a tough year for you & Keith. Your sense of humor & grace under pressure have been an inspiration. This forum and especially the South Central crew has been a blessing to me this year. Can't thank y'all enough. Blessings to everyone.

I'm very pleased with the performance of the Metzeler Roadtec Z6 tires that came on my bike. They're very sure-footed. If I can get any kind of decent mileage from them, I'll get them again. If not, I think I'll try the new Metzeler Z6 Interacts next.

When are they going to do one of these in the US of A ? They could shoot it in northeast Florida during the first week of March! Or perhaps a little tour of the Black Hills during the second week of August.

Just did mine a few months ago. Called up the BMW auto dealer and they had it in stock...$45 OTD... http://www.bmwlt.com/forums/showpos...224&postcount=1 I have my IPOD connected. Although not as loud as the FM, it gets up enough where its not an issue. Just remember to turn the volume down before switching..... If you have the stingray off, its plug and play. The Blue lever comes up...You'll know when you get there...!

Well, an extra $800 off would have been nice, but I'm glad I got mine when I did with the color and options it has. At the time, it was the only black RT with the factory radio/CD left within a reasonable distance from PA (there were 3 silver ones with radio/CD left in warehouse) and I wouldn't have given it up for the $800, so I'm still happy.

I would also like to say to my many friends on this site (and to those whom I may not yet know), Happy Thanksgiving! On this site I have formed some really good friendships and found a group of people who are willing to help at any time. Thanks for all the advice... Heck, when I came to this site I could even say BMW Mechanic....now I is one.

We can't tell you what to buy.
Try them both, its your call.
Do you want single or 2-up
heavy bike, light bike
2 air cooled or 4 liquid cooled.
Both are capable touring bikes.

Only thing I can offer up is to take your headset 2.5mm and check local electronics stores for a connector that works. If you can solder your own that would be a plus. Better scenerio would be to get a 2.5mm female connector and splice it to the sacrificial LG and be done with it...I've had my fair share of doing this with the connection on an Icom two way to my (an others) comsystems......

I do not know specifically about the R12RT, but I would assume that it is the same as the R12GS.
On that bike, the Electrical Controller monitors the fact that the BMW charger is connected to the accessory socket (by virtue of a signature current draw) and will never shut off the accessory socket.
For this functionality you must have the BMW charger, of course. For other brands, the ...

I am about to take possession of my first BMW, namely a 2009 R1200RT. My excitement is almost being matched by my anxiety, and I have a question that has arisen from my reading of threads on this forum.
I have had several bikes in the past, most recently one that weighed about the same as the RT. I chose the RT because it is at the weight limit that I feel comfortable with. I have also ...

Doggone, Big Brother!!!!!
The Cancer.. my Dad had some "radioactive pellets" that nuked the cancer.. few side effects.. no, did not glow in the dark. "everything" still functions.. actually later had a "scraping" done and things improved!
Aorta... if you are in a hard enough impact, it can rip open.... not the best way "to go"...
So, care should be taken ... dont' go falling off ...
