Young mechanics of the year on BBC
Published (2009-11-27 14:04:00)
I just got to watch this *cough* comedy horror award show. Its worth a 2nd look if you didn't see it, go look at BBC iPlayer as its lurking there. In summary a national search for the best young mechanic (under 25) and the final is what this program is all about. The 5 that pitch up here are Citroen apprentice of the year, Vauxhall's brightest, some guy from a Land Rover main dealer, and RAC Patrol man etc. All have around...

Why should I buy an E65?

The E65 is supposed to be a great driving car, but I also will not give up my E38 for one... I think the newer BMWs have lost the plot in terms of design, have also driven the new F01, great car, but even after I get out of that and come back to my e38, it still has the pedigree and the history... the E65 is roumoured to be a better drive than the F01, and I can agree. The f01 does not shrink around you like the e38 or the E65... it...

Bummer. OSV Failed thing going on.
Published (2009-11-29 17:21:00)
Well, I'm suffering from the OSV issue as well, loads of smoke from the exhaust, rough running and the dipstick is pulling a vacuum. My car is parked close to Williams of Manchester, anyone knows if they charge an arm and a legg for this (had a look to do it myself, my 1/4" ratchet definitely won't fit, the car's outside and with the lovely weather in Manchester I was soaked after 15 mins )....

Yep you'll be fine to drive it. In fact we drove all the way from London to Manchester when mine was gone. She just went through a lot of oil! lol. It's weird because when you see it do it you think she's a goner but they just go forever with appropraite tlc. Good luck!

I doubt it is deadlocked because you can only do that with the key in your hand. There are ways to get in, but not for a public forum. You may be faster and cheaper once you factor in running around agro etc getting a lock smith to open the lock for you. Most will have a lock gun that will open the lock undamaged. The alarm will kick in but they would have the lock open in a few ...

Nice cars, but not for me. I'll not be making the switch from E38 to E65 Tax is one issue for anything post March 2001 some once they get to a certain price they will be hard to shift once the road tax changes start to bite.

Having the TV screen is a fair indicator that the car may have satnav. Better would be to locate the satnav unit in the boot on the left hand side behind the cover panel. You still aren't there because there then also needs to be a map disk in the drive. But if all is present then you may well have a potentially working satnav system. The screen being smashed is a bummer. You didn't ...

You can fit 18" but they cause much more wear on the suspension bushes steering etc and would find that where you didn't feel a problem with 15" you will with 18" plus the ride is very hard and doesn't really suit the comfort of the 7 series.
