Quoting Silentbob ( Reply 52 ): I certainly understand if you dismiss it for that reason Not dismissing it at all - just pointing out that most people who travel with any frequency are going to, on average, pay less than the full Y fare, because most travelers, even business travelers, are able to buy non-refundable tickets at least some of the time. Of course, no airline can fill the airplane with full Y passengers, so it becomes a question...

Quoting WarRI1 ( Reply 21 ): I would have to ask if you have ever been in such a situation? Yes. In fact, I have. Three weeks into residency. I grabbed a blanket, came up behind the child, wrapped him in it, and voila. One restrained child. He fought, kicked and struggled. So we taped the blanket around him and put him on the floor where he couldn't fall off anything. I told him we'd let him loose as soon as he'd calmed down....

Personally, he is the last person I would want to see in such a post - he is a national disgrace. So no, on that score no complaints at all. I do, however, wonder about the legitimacy of any so-called EU President who wasn't elected by the people, but...

Quoting SunriseValley ( Reply 187 ): Germany is the first choice destination for Chinese after nearby Asian states. I guess it is too much to hope that Air NZ would choose Berlin over Frankfurt. broadly speaking, that is a pretty normal traffic pattern.
MIA is a huge connecting hub for AA , and the almost ceaseless expansion even in recent times is testament to its success.
On VS 's MIA - LHR route, the dynamics are very different. Still a reasonable number of connections to the Caribbean and Mexico, but predominantly due to U.K. vacation traffic.

Well if a GTF engine was developed for the A320 family it could just as easily be adapted for the 737 family too.

Quoting YVPHX ( Reply 5 ): However it could also be the 722 airplane that the Phoenix Coyotes use as their charter. Its a possibility that it left at about the same time you suggest. I can't find any pictures in the database with it, but there is a huge Coyotes logo on the black tail of the plane.
Perhaps, Rabbit, perhaps.

There have been ultrashort flights but most have disappeared;
BAF tried LGW - LHR with Shorts aircraft, Continental flew IAH - HOU I think, United flew OAK - SFO , and some airlines have flown FLL - MIA as tag ons. But they disappeared with a reason.
While surface traffic between FLL and MIA can be packed, it's still easier and more reliable to get a car or shuttle then an ...

The announcement said "around 171 seats", so that doesn't mean it will have exactly 171 seats. I highly doubt NZ will remove Space+ as it woud loose its advantage for its FF passengers. If it did put in 171 seat as well as Space+ then NZ would quickly become THE WORST domestic airline in the worldvery quickly. Again, ...

One problem is, Saudia's MD -90's have a different cockpit than the regular MD -90's (DL's M90's). Saudia's MD -90's have a cockpit similar to that of 717's and MD -11's.

Why wouldn't they be? Deregulation has resulted in a massive wealth transfer from labor and investors to passengers.

40% and more in some instance is very accurate. Take into account the paycuts and the most likely downsizing of the carriers. A pilot that was a Captain is given a 40% paycut, subsequently the company downsizes and the Captain is bumped backwards and is now a First Officer. In this scenario the pilot is down about 60%. This is not an anomaly but has occurred by the thousands at the major ...

I'll break my response down into two parts: the controversial and the non-controversial part.
First, the non-controversial: taken solely on the basis of what Arpey was quoted on saying - that AA would oppose a Delta-JAL ATI/JV tie-up, and that it would face a harder regulatory road than a hypothetically similar AA -JAL tie-up is really not debatable. I don't think even the most ...
