Kev, you can try and keep a coat of wax on them but the ones that are chipping are usually because they take a lot of rock chips and debris and just start chipping. Plus the paint is thinner on them and not cleared.

Turn the can upside down. Take a cigarette lighter, light it and run it
across the surface a few times, that will moisten it.

If you are working with some harder paints, a very aggressive compound can still finish out LSP-ready, or close to it. For instance, while SIP + white pad may require a follow-up on the soft Lexus solid-black paint, it certainly is almost flawless on the BMW Black Sapphire paint.
If you are still seing some hazing after using an orange pad, followed with the white pad, I would suggest using...

I am trying to figure out what I can use to clean the inside of my chrome exhaust tip up. I has some baked on carbon and what looks to be some pitting on the bottom of it. I have tried some APC but it's not really doing much to it. Is there anything I can do to bring back the chrome appearance inside of the tip also?
If you all are familiar with the exhaust tips on the Chevy Cobalt SS you ...

I would use a white (LC) Pad with the 205. There is really no cut on the black pad. Shouldn't take you 45 min per panel with 205.

Hi everyone, first time poster here.
Anyways, my name is Scott, I currently own a 2004 Honda S2000 that I bought used back in 2005, color is NFR (Red). Unfortunately, being a used car the paint on it is not as perfect as I would like. I personally store the vehicle in the wintertime and never drive it in the rain. I use great care whenever I wash it as well. But the whole time I have owned it...

Once you get the hang of it, you should be able to wash your car in 30
minutes or less. Just takes a couple uses to really get the process down.

Pictures would be a big help, full sun are best. Could be your paint has issues that will take buffer correction to allow UPGP to achieve the best look.
Personally, I am not a fan of finishes that are so reflective the color of the car disappears making it look like chrome. I like paint that looks like you could reach your hand into and never touch the metal.

I was not aware of paint thickness gauges that can differentiate between
types of paint on a car. Typically though, the color coat is very thin
since you have the clear coat to protect it.
