Mothers stuff is alright, it will do the job. There are higher end products out there, but what you have is fine for the moment.
As you have guessed, nothing you purchased will assist you in removing swirl marks. For that you need a dedicated abrasive polish.....generally anything with 'Swirl Remover' in its name is ...

Hey Dean,
Not many BF's? Just put an offer in on a BF11 GT-P this arvo, pending all the checks at 36k and was accepted - squeeky clean with very, very few stone chips, scuffs, etc. Keep looking! You happy to let someone else suggest you buy one without seeing and driving first? If you're gonna blow quite a few bucks on something you might keep a while, shell out a few hundred on the plane trip...

The steering wheels are no longer available but occasionally a second-hand one will come up on eBay. There is apparently someone who can repair them and there is a current thread on this somewhere.
