Noirua, that's fairly unreasonable and I doubt it would solve anything. Most "dog attacks" happen at either the owner's home or that of a friend and occur when little children are left unsupervised with a dog. You are putting forward a similar argument as that to which I'm objecting about backyard pools. In both instances, it's the responsibility of parents to supervise their children. It's very rare...

Dog owners should be made to have proper insurance guaranteeing payments up to $100 million for attacks on humans and indeed other animals. Certain breeds and crossbreeds should be muzzled on all but the owners private land and only then, provided it is properly fenced. All dog owners should be made to pass a course on how to look after dogs and certain breeds. If a dog, then listed, is found NOT to be wearing a muzzle in a public place, then...

Gamblor, A degree does not preclude one from being dogmatic and may even be a precursor of in in some people. Some of the most spectacularly dogmatic people in fact come from the ranks of the "learned". Don't forget some of the most ludicrous hypotheses in all areas of science comes from.... scientists. These are people who purportedly spent much time in universities as well. To claim exemption from dogma on this basis...

Felix Resources are up 14 cents at $5.60 and from market depth are looking to go a bit higher. This is a 6.5 year high as they await important developments at Moolarben. Interesting news at Ausmelt on the ferrous side, Felix have a 21.5% stake in ADC, quite recently, has added further to confidence.

Is this a problem with the human psyche - i.e. that climate change is (arguably) slipping down our 'To Do' list?
Or our leaders perhaps - how they describe the problem to an electorate, a bare 1 or 2% of whom have read the IPCC report or even an excerpt.. If they paint it "easy to fix", then ...

Hopefully the claims under related party transactions extends far deeper into the PIF portfolio than e.g. the $147M that WC is pursuing.
Hopefully even deals like the Forest Resort in Creswick and Latitude in Mackay. They certainly reek of conflict. Have a look at the case studies at www.mfsversa.com.au . Versa is claiming to have done these amazing deals for their clients ("Versa ... ...

Is there a history here, though? Perhaps the boy and his friend are notorious trouble makers. Perhaps the shop-keep knows that this particular group of friends are always stealing items, and wishes to set an example.
If I went into Coles and stole a bar of chocolate - I, too, would be prosecuted. What a shock, and I'm not even an aboriginal.

John Howard was rubbished when he said that we will decide who comes to Australia and the circumstances under which they came.
Now of course it is the people smugglers who decide these matters and it is making Kevin Rudd look very weak. Mouthing off abuse at the people smugglers didn't work, and now he has to start sounding like Howard, making "no apologies" for a hard line.
And he has to...
