Watched The Patriot last night. This really is a great movie. The cannon fire gave me goose bumps, especially with the Ultra in action now. Some good LFE in this movie. Felt the need to watch since we are just coming off of the 4th of July.

A lot of my customers always ask if they can still get audio and video if their receiver is off? Are there any specific receivers that have a true bypass so they can get audio and video with the receiver being off? If not, how is it possible to do this because I'm sure there are a lot of people out there that want to watch, for example the news, but do not want to have the surround sound on.

Well, I lost my eBay bidding virginity this afternoon...and before the age of 40, even. I did buy my first eBay item this summer, but it was a "Buy it now" item...and it was on a guest account. I'm so excited. Okay, not really, but I do hope to get this thing. I've got a question for you hard-core eBay'ers. The "maximum bid" box - I'm pretty sure that it'll do what I think, but I want ...

Hello, I am sure this is an easily answered question by anyone that is familiar with A/V equipment which I am just getting into, but here is my question. Equipment I need to connect- Denon AVR-3806 with direct TV HD receiver and a Panasonic PZ700 plasma. I want to use HDMI and digital audio because the HDMI does not allow sound. What do I hook to where PLEASE help me ...

Guys - Still trying to settle on a HT setup (mostly movies, little music). I really am digging the look of the Axiom speakers. They seem to get good reviews and are very sharp. I really dig the look of the QS4 and QS8 (haven't decided which yet). Here is what I am thinking for a setup. First, I am running an Onkyo TX-SR605. Not uber powerful, but I think it should be able to ...

Well, not really unless you listen to the weather reporters in Florida. Hurricane season hasn't even officially started yet and we already have a "Tropical Storm." Actually it's a "Subtropical Storm" but who cares. It's just kind of funny that Florida is experiencing a pretty severe drought this year and we get this storm that sits off shore and barely gives a drop. I hope ...

Someone over at AVS posted pics of what seems to be the new line of Paradigm Studio's... .v5 Seem to be much prettier. Tapered cabinets, and real wood veneer? I am looking forward to seeing more info about these. If anyone else has a chance, could they take some more pics at Cedia over there and upload

All hail Mike C the sub King! In all seriousness that is great info. I have not known/heard of anyone outside of a professional reviewer who has had that many subs in their ownership or direct disposal to test. Thanks and keep us posted as you get the final set-ups done.

Looks like the new Oppo Blu-Ray player is at CEDIA here is a Audioholics Sneak Peek link to photo's over at AVS No idea of price an the pics are a little grainy. He must have been taking them with a hidden camera. I really like the looks of that player and it may even be a true universal player with SACD and DVD-Audio. It does have 7.1 multichannel and an ethernet ...

I recently saw a Monster Demo about 'noise' from a power outlet. They came to our store and hooked up a power sniffer to one of our outlets and showed us the 'noise' ( a reading of ~103 on the power sniffer) on the line. Then they plugged in on of their surge protectors/line conditioners and showed the noice went down to around .8. Then they plugged in a samsung 67" dlp tv, and onkyo ...

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080829/...epstakes_pa lin As much as I hate to admit it, I think McCain did a VERY smart thing by choosing Palin as his VP. This election is going to come down to middle America. And as much as people don't want to admit it, there is still a lot of racism in middle America. If it comes down to a choice between a black man and a white woman, I honestly feel...

Just a short post to answer a couple questions. Furry...God has always been, is now and forever shall be. Hard to swallow for us linear thinking humans, but hey; even the number line has no end! I have posted before that I am a "big God" believer. Why would anyone want to believe in a god that is not? I would not want to believe in any god that is not all powerfull. To me, putting ANY limit on ...
