Yeah sure.. tell more people how great old Altec, JBL, EV, Klipsch, ,and the other normal players are, and since more are interested, the prices will go down.... I'm calling This place has already hiked a lot of prices on a lot of sleeper gear thanks to Google.. why try even harder to get more people looking to make a buck off flipping stuff... Take Albums for an example. People used to pay you to take their old "junk"...

Looking at that page, they list the 2A3 as a suggested tube for the 1627SE. At least we're working within established parameters. The design goal of this project is to stick with triodes, AFAIK.

Welcome to the party, pal! You've come to the right place. It looks like you've got a good start on your first system. Nice solid and reliable gear!
No flames from here about bi-wiring! My Snells are bi-wired and my DQ-10's would be too, if they had four binding posts. That simple change improved the performance of my system noticably.
Enjoy the forums!

Welcome to Ak. My son lives in Burlington. We're heading there for Christmas. We were there last Christmas and had a small vacation there during the summer. Pretty place.

You ask an interesting question. I had a higher end system and I found that I didn't really like a high resolution system. I wasn't enjoying the music as much when I reached a certain level. My system is now lower end but I enjoy it more. Actually I have two systems. One for winter (tube) and one for summer (SS) I dont think rock music for instance sounds good on a high resolution ...
