Hi, Our d has difficulty with milkshakes and desserts, so we are experts in high calorie vegetarian savories. Here are my suggestions: • chili made with lots of oil and then cornbread made with cream and butter. • polenta, cheese, eggplant, tomato sauce casserole (layers of polenta made with cream, cheese, eggplant brushed with plenty of olive oil then baked semitender before put in the ...

Cheryls, Many will respond I am sure. From my perspective, we saw this too. Honesty is a value we have in our home and it was made very clear from the time when my girls were very young. They knew that if they were honest with me about anything that happened, I would not punish the act if it was an accident etc. ( something got broken or damaged for an example) I prided this trait and based ...

I had an instinctive feeling that my D needed to see our T separately for her to be able to show her real personality. We split the session and it works out really well. There is no hidden agendas and we discuss everything necessary when I return to the room. My D doesn't feel that SuperT takes sides at all and I think that is noteable. I think it is important that however you do your sessions, ...

Hi there!
We changed to Maudsley after my d was already weight restored. I wish we would have started sooner! It really helped to get everyone on the same page, there is no longer any hideaway for ED, no splitting the parents and there is no dietician or therapist in charge, it is US in charge. If we see a problem with the eating, we don't have to wait till the next weigh in, we just fix it....

Louie, that is just the best news about your d! CookinMom, you will have to let us know how life without ED affects your d-it was recommended to my d awhile back but she didn't like it-she doesn't like to separate herself from ED I've noticed so I will be interested to see how your d does with the book.
A few years ago, my d was an awesome cook, she and her friend had a little catering ...

I do think that at some point your daughter will need to accept that she wears a larger size. You're point about being at the size that is right for her body is good, however, if she just isn't in a point to accept that rationally you may want to just purchase clothes in more appropriate sizes and have them "magically" appear in the closet [perhaps the too small clothing can also disappear]. We...

Hi Elle I am in Melb Vic, but we have just moved here from QLD and have not as yet hooked into a treatment team so I cant give advice on that one as I am looking into it myself for my 14yo son. I am so sorry that your appointment wasnt more helpful. I have been through similar to you. My S told the specialists that I wouldn't let him eat, or that he had eaten, in fact he would tell them ...

Congratulations LV! You and TF and your sweet girl have worked sooo hard and overcome so many obstacles! I hope you all have a lot of time to relax and enjoy some 'life' now! Y'know... the sippin lemonade, all hanging around the house, let's get together and laugh kind of 'life!' I wouldn't fret over the weight right now either... no use trying to control what you don't know. Snoopy dance time!...

It gets better and the way it did in our house was with "magic plate". You are doing terrific, keep going.

Hurray for the weight gain! (by whatever means, it is a necessary and wonderful thing.) And, yes, after reading the explanation you posted, rumination syndrome sounds very much like what you have described with your D's situation. She is very fortunate to have you and your H for parents. Best of luck in the "big city" diagnosis trip.
