Tina, I understand your frustrations with the Virtual Academy totally.? I really hope you can work it out. When Carmie came to we a few weeks ago, and said she wanted to go back to school because she missed having friends around, DH and I decided to let her go back.? It was a tough decision, but with the K-8 program, there is so much parent involvment that it was really hard.? I was struggling to get everything done around the house, get her...

Thanks for the tips, right now she fights everything, we got the melts for her fever and have used the strips too. Last time we used the strips I had to fold it up real small and put it in her mouth. She did take a claritin this morning, I don't think it will help her cold but it is a small victory. As for our other DD, she has dance twice a week and has youth group twice a week, if she did not have that I would have left her in school....

This time of year, I do a lot of soups too.? So easy with just veggies, some stock and some sort of grain or pasta. Another thing I do is throw a bunch of veggies, some seasonings into the crock pot with or without chicken ;).? Then when it's all cooked and soft I used my submersion blender to blend it all up.? It makes a wonderfully creamy, rich soup and my boys have no idea how healthful it is for them.? Oh yea, take the meat out...

Looking very pregnant Julie! Your face is still thin though...you look great. The girls are cute too;). I am staying home and doing lots of housework so I can do fun stuff with Maggie for the rest of the week. The big kids are off from school tomorrow, though, for election day. I haven't eaten lunch yet and it is almost 2 p.m. Maggie has been napping forever. I think she is moving around now but she isn't crying yet. I'm going...

A teacher friend is getting married today, it is about na hour away, and so I have to lave in about an hour, to catch up with my carpool, and it will probably be an all night event. Wedding at 2, hall opens at 4, dinner at 6. I am looking forward to it though. Nice to hang out with adult friends all day and laugh and talk and not have to be so profrossional. Plus it is a GORGEOUS day! ...

Since I am venting so much, I will add some more! Oldest DD is homeschooled (State Virtual Academy) all I have to do is supervise what she does and help when needed. I am tired of her complaining that she wants to go back to school. She things that she has to much work to do. She only does the online part of the class and does not do the other work in her work book. I am still waiting for ...

I think alot of the rates depend on the area you live in. My area is not super expensive as far as those services go...... I asked a neighbor who cleans offices and two neighbors who have a cleaning person each week.
The office cleaner makes $15 / hr but only works in the evenings etc when no one is there.
The others I asked ranged between $11-$15 and hour. However one woman has a ...

Homeschooling mom of a quirky, VERY ADHD-like kid here. :-) Just giving some suggestions of things to try that might help with paying attention during rug time..... Have the teacher have him do some "heavy" work before rug time. Like help carry several of the chairs over to the rug, or help arrange the chairs, or help carry her books to the rug, or even erasing chalkboards. Something that ...

Do you like soup? I make two Weight Watcher recipes that we like, taco soup and cheeseburger soup. Have you tried the Barilla pasta in the yellow box (whole grain and OMega 3's)? I use that for my spagetti and use ground turkey in the sauce with mushrooms and zucchini. I make breakfast for dinner every so often too with 1/2 egg beaters and eggs and turkey bacon and fresh fruit. I also have...

Wow! I didn't think that woube such a tough question!
Here's mine. I like to decorate with lots of natural greens, but they are very expensive - ranging from $20-50 for a small bunch depending on the type (I like to mix them up). Of course, I can usually get a few free boughs from the Christmas tree place, but I often want to decorate long before we buy the tree.
For several years now, ...
