This workbench looks cute and is for around their age: http://www.littletikes.com/toys/home-improvements-2-sided-workshop.aspx I may end up getting him this bench and a Step 2 kitchen. He loves playing with the appliances in our kitchen.

Hang in there Steph! You can do it! Have you talked to the doctors about pain management. Maybe there is something better that they can prescribe?

Theresa, I am so sorry. He cuts himself to divert his emotional pain. I had a friend that did this. He needs to get counseling. I am praying for your family and your boys. Can you looking into getting some help? There are food pantries and Catholic charities that help pay rent and bills. Also, one of the radio stations here is taking names of families and helping them out with Christmas - maybe there is something like this in your area. Hugs...

Thankyou for all your responses and kind words of support ladies. I am glad to hear I am not the only one suffering second baby anxiety. I have actually calmed down a bit about it now, thankfully :o).

Steph - I pray that one day you will be pain free and look back on this experience as being so worth it to see that precious little face of Elody.? I can't relate to the pain you are going through, but it is something that will make you a stronger person in the end.? I think you are a brave lady to have had it done and I would also have it done in a heartbeat if I was in your situation.? I am amazed at what breakthroughs medical science...

I don't think I'd worry either.? If he is socializing fine and it seems like he doesn't have any querky behaviors, I really don't think he's autistic.? Our oldest child, Matthew, is autistic, hearing impaired among other things.? Our second child, Morgan, is hearing impaired and has some slight learning disabilities because the hearing loss was found later.? She however, is mainstreamed in school.? Whereas Matthew...

My AB is not saying many words either. And the ones she says are all garbled. She does have fluid in her ears, and we've had problems with them since she was about 9 months old. She is having surgery in January to have tubes put in to drain them, and the doctor is hopefull that will help. I haven't once worried about autism, too early to tell as far as I know. Some of my kids were late talkers, and I didn't talk until I was 4!!...

I don't have much experience with this but I would definitely start with speaking with the director. I feel so bad for your poor little guy and for you. I know that things get busy at daycare but there is no excuse for that! I would be furious!

Not exactly sure when Thanks Giving is but we put ours up on the Nov 25th this year! We usually wait until Dec 1st but thats our anniversary and decided that this year we did not want to muck around with a tree because its hot and heat + fanning out many prickly branches = fights :P also because we got a new tree in the sales last year (we dont do real ones over here :P) and i was really excited...

I am weary of using videos to teach anything at this age. I think that learning is better when it happens naturally, through daily interactions and play. I know there is certainly a market for foreign language dvds but I don't have any experience with them. Maybe someone else can help. Good luck!

Theresa, I'm sorry you are all going through this. I did make it all the way through your story. I think you made the right choice having your DH go to the stress center. Hopefully that will be the first step to him getting the help that he needs.
I know it seems devastating for you to be out the income, but from experience trust me you'll be able to manage. Reach out to some of your ...

As i've mentioned before, we too are a bilingual household. I personally dont think theres anything wrong, but if it's for your own sanity i guess consulting with a speech therapist is just fine. Personally one thing ive learned with AB is that you cant compare them to other kids regardless how similiar things might look. Each child is different and perhaps he's just learning and taking it all ...

Amelia is getting a play kitchen from my parents(used, but in good condition), a baby care center from us (used again), homemade muffin-tin crayons from her brothers, and a Little Tikes picnic table from Santa. My in-laws already gave her a princess ride-on toy and a Little People pet shop toy. I am also going to pick up some dishes for the play kitchen and a few books. If I have the time I ...

I totally, totally know what you're saying! It IS scary--especially when you're so far along in your pregnancy, hormonal, and every little task seems darn near impossible!
First of all, take a deep breath, relax, and just KNOW that everything will fall into place. It may be a little difficult at times, but you will become an EXPERT at being a mommy of two! :) Aidan will love that new baby...
