My last calibration was on the 6th of November, I usually calibrate then save my score. Here's a screenshot to give you an idea.

Question for Maciej and iceman: When was the last time you calibrated your battery with a full discharge/recharge cycle? Only then will you know if that reading is anywhere close to accurate.

er, I should say that I wasn't actually able to read the image, and was assuming (wrongly) that it was more extreme -- the readings on my battery were something like 180% capacity etc. And to address Brad's question in my case, full discharge was done a couple weeks prior. There may just be something wrong with coconut battery at lower battery life...

The 50D or 7D would be a good choice for someone who is used to a film camera. It would depend on how much you want to spend, what lens(es) you want to get with it. If your budget is tight, you might not to be able to get decent glass to go with a higher end body. If you already have modern Canon AF lenses then it isn't an issue, but if they are older FD lenses they will not work on the newer bodies. Once you step up to the 15MP/18MP...

I'm finally getting my own DSLR so I can stop mooching my Dad's! He said for Christmas, he's willing to make a new DSLR my one "big gift" from the whole family, so the question becomes, Canon or Nikon?
My friend Nick at school who is easily the best photographer I know packs a Nikon and he swears by it. On the other hand, I'm totally used to and comfortable with my Dad's Rebel.

I've experienced 1 quite a lot. Never been able to work out why, always assumed it had something to do with the way I was opening/something I was missing.

Didn't Apple used to sell a basic MIDI/ USB Keyboard in the Apple Stores? I think it was an M-Audio model.
Here's one of M-Audio's models on sale at Amazon for $95: M Audio KeyRig 49 49 Key USB Keyboard Controller
FWIW, M-Audio is the one name I've seen for years on end as a vendor that makes Mac-compatible MIDI hardware. I don't recall ever reading anything particularly bad about ...

All you need is to rent some cheap linux box (Must have SSH access) that is hosted in the destination you want. Then fire up terminal and type:-
ssh -D 9999 username@host
Then goto firefox and configure it to use a SOCKS proxy on localhost port 9999.
And there you have a nice encrypted connection from some host in whatever destination you need. And if you do it using the firefox proxy ...

Lots of Firewire based movie cameras are supported in iMovie.
You can Google for your particular Panasonic model.
Firewire cables are cheap (how much they cost in USA? perhaps $1~$2). You can just try your luck.

COD4, Civ:Revolution; I haven't checked out PixelJunk yet.
I was very disappointed with MGS4. I thought the story was very lackluster, and the game came up kinda short, IMO. I don't know if it was actually shorter compared to the other Metal Gears, but something was certainly missing.

What version of the Mac Mini does he have? The one's that came out this year have n capabilities in them. Otherwise you could get him one of those usb wireless n adapters, though I've never used one and have no comment on how well they work.

I'd set your modem/router to use that static IP address and just forward port 80 to your iMac.
Of course if you want to keep it set up as it is, make sure your iMac is setup using the static IP address and you are accessing the static address, not the gateway address they would have given you as well.
For simple authentication you probably just want to setup an .htaccess file if you are ...
