Dafür braucht es mehr als nur ein paar Scripts und Xampp. Insbesondere benötigst Du einen eigenen DNS Server (nicht Bestandteil von Xampp), damit die Subdomains auch registriert werden können (sprich: eine IP zuweisen).

Hi The one and only uncommented line in hosts file is 127.0.0.1 So I left it as such . What else can I do o ? My w drive is on an external disk attached by USB to the PC .Has that got anything to do with it ? ( XAMPP is installed in the w drive )

Have you checked the Joomla web site to see if anyone there has the same issue and knows what settings in Joomla that need changing? BTW on a removable USB drive there should be no drive letter allocated when you installed XAMPP which means, by your error messages, that Joomla extensions can't find XAMPP perhaps. What version of XAMPP and which Windows OS?

I don't see why it wouldn't work? It's x64 and x86 compatible with as far as I know all Windows Operating systems... (maybe not 95-98)

The most common issue for 500 error is that you have not CHMODed the
correct permissions. Set the perl scripts permissions to 755 or -rwxr-xr-x.

will code with the correct tags but imagine i go though 59 pages re-tagging to find its not that. i'd rather just try and turn short tags on and see if it corrects the problem if it does then great i know its that. why wouldn't someone mention this great change on the front website page? i'm sure theres more people horrified at the output they seen and dont know why too.
