Happy Thanksgiving 2009!

For members and posters who're American and/or celebrate Thanksgivin', feel free to post how ya spent the holiday! What ya ate, was it spent with family and friends, what you're thankful for, etc. I spent the day with family and had a great Thanksgivin' lunch with mashed potatoes, carrot casserole, green bean casserole, egg salad, cranberries, cheese balls, stuffin', chocolate pecan pie, pumkin pie, pumkin custard, egg...

Man marries video game character
Published (2009-11-25 01:47:00)
Hm, really? Don't get me wrong, I'd play it because I'm interested in dating sims for fun, but my family would not sit idly by and watch me marry a game character. (My Gambit obsession being a running gag in my house notwithstanding) No, they'd either send me to a therapist or put me in a looney bin before that happened. I may be a geeky girl, but I'm not a crazy one!!

Man marries video game character

Dating sims are nothing new, especially in Japan, but there is just something about Love Plus . The game is making men fall in love with the virtual girls. It's even causing problems for men who are already married to actual real women. Now that's scary! I partially blame Nintendo for making the DS so interactive with a microphone and touchscreen. I. DON'T. LIKE. Robin. I'll admit he is a skilled fighter, but he is my least favorite character. Mainly (well actually this is the only real reason I don't like him) because he stole Starfire from me (well not really, but you know what I mean). He is also kind of shallow. In a TTG comic, he schedules a few days of training with the True Master, on the day before Valentine's Day!! He didn't even remember, and...

I'm really glad you were being sarcastic...too much exposure to rabid Twi-hards recently, this would've really set me off. Glad I read mini's post/your second post first, before posting.

Darn, I kinda liked Blue Dragon. Oh well, at least it should still be on Saturday morning. Plus, having Ben 10:AF on Toonami will make it easier for me watch it, since I overslept through a couple episodes.

Wow, mini wolfsbane , ya really like those tiger plushies, huh?
Well, I can't blame ya. After all, I have a collection of several dozen manatees.
Besides that, I also love my Digimon toys (even though some have never been outside their boxes for collection-value purposes), most 'specially my Digimon pinball machine.
I also like my other stuffed animals, as they keep me warm and ...

My Thanksgiving was cut a little in the food department because my oven pretty much stopped working so we had no dressing (this is perfect with potato salad and macaroni & cheese), cake (which we usually double up on around this time) and pie for those who want it. Other than that it was still good and I'm grateful about the food we did have given the way things have been lately in the money ...

Let's see, I'm not reading any manga currently, but I'm watching several animes at the moment.
I just finished the last episode of .Hack//Sign , and now I sincerely wish my PS2 hadn't died so I could play the games, as the story continues from there. All in all, it was a good anime. While I really liked the glimpses of the characters Tsukasa, Subaru, Bear, and a few others in real life ...

Sorry, uh, how do I put that more nicely?
Wait...were you being sarcastic?
(I was reading through your post and writing as I read.)
Yes, it seems you were.
Besides, even if you were being serious, we're an animation forum, not a book forum. Would look out of place. If there's ever a Twilight anime though, (which there probably won't be) we'd...

You know, I'm actually not all that surprised.
The Love Plus dating sim has been causing all sorts of weird craziness ever since it was released in Japan last September.

I can only assume this is a revamped version of World's Collide because they figured this was the only way they were going to get to use Dwayne McDuffie's script that's been sitting on the shelf for several years now. If it's not, well then World's Collide is as good as dead. Being a Crime Syndicate story as well it would never get made following this.

Just saw Hairspray. I loved it. It was sooo much fun. John Travolta was lovable and hilarious, all the protaganists were very likable, the music was awesome, it was funny, I really can't think of anything bad to say about it. It doesn't really have anything important to say, but it was a ton of fun and everybody should go see it.

I'm not going to run off to Paris to follow a rock band, get kidnapped, and be forced into the sex trade*, but I don't have anything against paying for sex.

The silhouette of Grimmjow's past form as life faded from his body was a really nice touch... overall, it was a pretty awesome fight, and although they played the sympathy card for Grimmjow a little late in the game here, I didn't mind all that much.
My only regret was that we didn't get a final emotion from the onlooking espada, no doubt curious as to how Grimmjow could be cut down "by a ...

A chat room could be a good idea...but then again, we already have PMs and threads, and I do the bulk of my conversations on those. Would a chat room be redundant?

The 60's Batman-style sound effects had me gleefully laughing. TORN MENISCUS! COWER!
Sgt. Hatred's issues are wearing on me. I miss Dr. Orpheus and Triana.

I've heard good things as well - and the released images look fun. It feels very...un-Lasseter however, despite all the press he's been doing for the project. It'll be interesting to see how it plays. At the very least it should be better than Dreamworks Animation's recent flux of sub-par holiday specials.
