um a rooted g1...REALLY IT WILL OPEN THE DOOR TO AN ENTIRELY NEW PHONE. But if you dead set against rooting in general and are sick of the G1 then personally I would either hit up the droid or wait until Q1-Q2 of next year when a mess of new android phones are going to be released.. anything right now isn't worth upgrading imo

Just start from the begining of rooting . Don't boot after installing adp 1.6 . Flash cyan then reboot .

I dunno... I've used an iPhone and didn't find it any harder or easier to use than my Android when I first picked it up. Someone would have to be extremely defeatist that they go through the hassle and paperwork to swap their phone for something simpler at the first stumbling block. It's well known that a person learns a lot less if they're shown how to do something when compared to if they figure it out for themselves....

The thing about the Ipod touch is all the rumors about it getting a camera or not and I'd gladly start using an N900. Hmf, but I haven't used the Apple store yet either and it does look good.

1 - You're missing something. If I go to Messaging -> New message, and as you say the cursor is in the To box, so I start typing a name, by the time I've typed the first two characters of the name it's offering suggestions. its actually not maps 2.0 its maps 3.2.1.. and i dont think google releasing this to 1.6 has anything to do with 2.0 not coming. I simply belive this because all these new devices coming out have 1.5 still.. so if that was the case then why not make the new maps 3.2.1 work on 1.5 as well. google had to have plans on releasing it to 1.6 becasue if u had noticed the old google map was removed from ...

Try turning off the phone , pull the battery out for 3 minutes . Put it back in and reboot . To use the nav , the gps has to be on and with a clear view of the sky . Gps won't find you inside .

My first question would be what class is your SD card? If its not Class 6 that would be my first bit of advice to swap it out. The higher the class the faster the card responds.
On your Rom build I would highly encourage you to switch to 4.2.5
I'm currently running it and honestly I couldn't be more happier. Its pretty fast and stable. I think I've had maybe one or two Force Closures ...

I don't use it, or have any prior knowledge but it never hurts to clear the cache, or try to find an application that can help out.
