I guess my business is 50/50 vintage and newer amps, but recently the trend has been towards more newer amps. I am also seeing a lot more warranty stuff coming in for repair rather than replacement, that used to happen in years gone by. Maybe it's the manufacturers that are feeling the pinch. I also notice a decline in build quality, especially in Peavey amps, compared with just a few years ago. Peavey may not have been everybodies cup of...

From what I gather, it was his late wife who had the business sense and really kept things together for Peavey during the onslaught of China/Guitar Center and since she passed, a lot of things Hartley swore Peavey would never do (foreign manufacture and catalog sales) have been pushing Peavey downward to remain competitive.

Reverb mods/ideas/questions

I've been working to try and tone down an overly bright/harsh/agressive reverb on a Deluxe reverb clone. I've BF'the circuit and installed a 250K audio pot. These changes have worked very well - I had tried a 12EU7 driver tube, but I didn't get the results I wanted. It's almost there, just still too bright. All that really remains is to tame down the still-too-bright reverb. I'm wondering if upping the input cap...

It looks like it should be a 3 volt lamp. Wierd arrangement. It would be at half brightness if they were in series. Check these out. Get them at mouser http://www.cml-it.com/pdf/2-53.pdf. Dave.

Excellent price, probably worth that much each. Expanded metal is usually available at larger hardware stores, BUT, on subs it has a habit of vibrating and rattling, If it were me I'd look at new fateners for the cloth grills.
