Occasionally these small movies come out that nobody has ever heard of that suddenly appear on the rental wall in the midst of all the noise, with an appealing cover that reveals a visual experience different from the norm. When Night Watch appeared, however, I was mostly disappointed by a poorly written fantasy movie of the usual tropes...

I really liked the way they came at the story from the viewpoint of a 'hero' who is getting tired of the hero business. Absolutely beautiful landscape even with all the weather problems they had. Glad you liked it too.

...and to start off the first post, I watched Last Year at Marienbad last night, after I bought the Criterion at Barnes & Noble for $20.
I've been wanting to see this movie for AGES. I also was a little worried about turning off my critical view and just experiencing it, like it's
supposed to be. Turns out I didn't need to, the movie led me into the experience sufficiently on its own power....

Content in trailers is often edited - when the subject matter has controversy, they try and make sure the controversial stuff isn't in trailers so it will
hopefully have more appeal to all of the US.
Kind of sad, but predictable.
