Sandra, Happy Thanksgiving. I am reading a book I think you might like. Dream Chaser by Sherrilyn Kenyon. It's part of a series but a good stand alone story. The series and the book are PNR. The h is part Greek God and part Sumerian demon. He was horribly abused by both sides of his family and eventually killed because he trusted the wrong person and she betrayed him. When he meets the h he has been released from the underworld for one...

Kentucky Moon by Elizabeth Lee

This is a really nice first novel. I have no idea how I came to know about it much less order it. One of you folks must have recommended it on this forum. I used the search function and found only one reference (in a list) but I don't think that was what spurred my purchase. Anyway - I liked it and wanted to say thanks to whomever encouraged me to buy it. It may have even been a promotional posting but, as I said, the search function...

Question for PBS users

Dear Sprite, I am new to the royalty of your publisher. But they should tell you the discount if you buy books. A traditional book deal is for the publisher to give an advance before publishing. However, the sales are from 8 to 12 percent. Next is a vanity publisher. You pay for the publication of your book. But I don't know if how you get an ISBN code. Bowkers is normally contacted by the publisher (look on the Internet for...

Heroes with serious illnesses
Published (2009-11-21 20:17:00)
Hhmmm, I have another idea, which *might* fit your theme request. If you read historicals, consider Simple Jess by Pamela Morsi. The hero in this novel doesn't have a serious illness but he is, well, simple of mind (due, if I remember the story correctly, to an accident at birth). The heroine and the townspeople love him for who and what he is, rather than what he's not. It's an unusual story within the romance genre.

Robyn Carr question - please help
Published (2009-11-23 09:54:00)
I understand the main diff between the series is that GV has the same hero/heroine over several books, while the VR series has a different hero/heroine in each book. Also, GV is considered more 'womans fiction' than romance, at least that was how I understood. I haven't read GV, but am a huge fan of the VR series! (And the VR series really should be read in order.)

Looking for a book
Published (2009-11-23 09:59:00)
I agree with Janet it is Sharon Sala The Way to Yesterday. Back cover blurb What if you could live one day over and change the outcome....Suddenly, unbelievably, Mary Ellen O'Rourke could--and so her wonderful husband and beautiful baby girl were alive and well. Now all she had to do was keep them that way. If only she knew how... But maybe she did. Because a strange encounter with an unusual ring had brought Mary into this parallel...

What genre are you looking for? Historical, contemporary, paranormal... I just finished reading the third installment of the Virgin River series by Robyn Carr. I was going to continue with the series but I had to stop for a while. Good series but I was slightly annoyed with them constantly going back to the couple of the first book.

I'd like to read a novel with this theme too, as I am a big Guy of Gisborne fangirl. (Even though in the BBC series, he *was* a bad guy.) Have you seen Season 3 yet? I won't give away spoilers for anyone, but it showed us a different Guy of Gisborne, that's for sure. I did like the end (with reservations). There is a lot of good fan fiction out there for Guy and Marian. Do a google search...

D A Verno - I agree completely! I like the idea of the H/h having time to enjoy their HEA before she gets pregnant. Children, especially babies, are a lot of work and not particularly romantic IMO. As a mother, it's the escapism of reading that attracts me, which is why I prefer there be no children involved until the epilogue. Not to say I don't have "keepers" with children integral to the...

You might try these: * Blood Moon Over Britain by Morag McKendrick Pippin * Perfidia by Elspeth McKendrick (takes place in Nazi Germany; same author as above writing under different name) Here are a couple more ideas but.... ALL the characters in the following novels don't necessarily have a happy ending: * Sentimental Journey by Jill Barnett * The Photograph by Virginia Ellis

I took a look on Amazon and didn't find a new one that was actually from Amazon. Just the third party sellers looking to make an opportunistic buck off suckers like us. I've never heard of Marion Marshall and only saw one book by her on Amazon...which was Amber Moment. I searched some other used book websites with no luck. You might try ebay first to see if you get a better deal. Like ...

I was considerably younger - maybe 14 or so. It was a harlequin presents, set in Africa, on a game preserve or something. I remember the H/h taking refuge on a platform because a pride of lions had taken up camp underneath (or something like that - they were on a platform overnight, with the predicted results.)

I will have to investigate further but this sounds like these authors are alerting us to the crime of copying a book. That is a crime, you know, even if there are no funds exchanged. One of the reasons that the publishing industry is worried about e-books is the possibility of copying them. Much harder to do with dead-tree books. Admittedly, it appears that some authors leaped to ...
