WOW Tune I can't believe that Fly like an Eagle, I'm in you and Crystal Gayle's Don't it make my Brown eyes Blue didn't make #1. I am sure Crystal's made #1 on the Country Charts. I'm sure CW would know. Rita Collidge did a nice take on the Jackie Wilson Song. Thank you.

Joe: also re: 1975, I've got about an hour of a Casey Kasem AT40 airhceck from a week in August 1975. Very cool. Casey talks about Mike Post winning an arm wrestling championship (Rockford Files), Glen Campbell (from Dewight, Arkansas) with Rhinestone Cowboy, a new act that call themselves the Commodores (from Tuskeegee, Alabama) with their hit Slippery When Wet. Plus, the top 3 spots were all held by British Artists, for the first time...

I love Neil. He's phenomenal. His solo on the "In Rio" DVD after playing hard for well over an hour is remarkable. Others that I really like: Steve Smith Dennis Chambers Phil Ehart Virgil Donati Steve Gadd Dave Weckl Horacio Hernandez Steve Negus Jack DeJohnette Peter Erskine and the late, great(est), Buddy Rich. Skip to the 2:40+ mark to see the solo... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=...

Yo, James -- you need to get with the grammar/puncuation thing. It's really not that difficult to put a capital letter, period, comma, or paragraph where it belongs. (Hint: it's also quite easy to edit your post...;-) "Greatest" is too subjective. My "favorite" Elvis song is probably "It's Now Or Never", but I'm not sure if it was ever on a regular album, only one or more of the myriad ...

I guess you want to end the "Is it music?" discussion, but starting this one seems suspiciously like a continuation to me. . . First, if it's "black music" then Falco, Blondie, BAD, Clash, Beastie Boys, Vanilla Ice, et al are passing like no one ever has before. I doubt most people hate it. I just think most people like what they like and their culture is reinforced so many times over ...

I don't know that I've ever bought a remaster that actually sounded WORSE than the original. Some sound roughly the same (Born To Run & The Joshua Tree are two good examples). I don't claim to be an audiophile either, but I can name two other examples of remasters that literally put the originals to shame: Gimme Back My Bullets - Lynyrd Skynyrd Street-Legal - Bob Dylan To my ears, most ...

Sure, I'm quite familiar with that side of it--and yes, I largely agree with punk's real effect (though that wasn't the whole story by any means). Maybe we're just looking at the same phenomenon from different ends. (I tend to look askance at anything with "politically incorrect" in it, as " political correctness" is simply a straw man to begin with. Ironically, it was liberals who ...
