GREATEST MARTIAL ARTS FILM EVER...
Published (2009-12-17 14:43:00)
I'm not sure how to interpret "best" without a clear set of expectations, but here are some of my favorites from a couple different categories. BEAT 'EM UP - Born To Fight - Tom Yum Goong (The Protector) - Ong Bak 2 - Chocolate CINEMATIC - Fearless (Jet Li) - Hero (Jet Li) (Ziyi Zhang) - Ip Man (Donnie Yen) - House of Flying Daggers (Ziyi Zhang) "I don't know which entire movie is the best, but my...

Do you belive in Mcdojos?
Published (2009-12-14 07:11:00)
I actually like the comparison to McDonalds. McD's is an EXTREMELY successful and well-run worldwide business that makes its product available to the MASSES. A well-run McDojo is the same thing. Most people are never going to get into a real fight, so what is the point of trying to turn regular people into soldiers? The real killer in this country is our sedentary lifestyle. Giving people a goal to work for and making the program do-able...

What Would Your Criteria Be In...

You may think it is loaded, but in the world today you really need to think through things. Growing up, I was very small for my age. The bigger boys often used me for their punching bag. At first, I put up with it because I didn't know any better. Then, it got worse -- the big bully at school zeroed in on me. I went to the teacher and the bully got in trouble. About a week later, he cornered me in one of the school bathrooms along with...

I think the real analogy of the water passage is: adaptability. A water can fit in any container, yet it can still be unruly and rebellious, ah the power of adaptibility.

GREATEST MARTIAL ARTS FILM EVER...

Extra Extra. just received Blood and Bone today. Haven't watched it yet. Opening scene tells me this is gonna be something a little special on the contemporary tip. For those who don't know Michael Jai White is the real deal, the only actor that had the physical attributes and ability to play Mike Tyson with any credibility when they did the Mike Tyson Story a decade or so ago.

This is a controversial subject.A recent US Army field hthc manual is basically a course from Brazilian egomaniac Rorion Gracie in his familys alleged superior(WHAT UTTER HOGWASH !!!!)style..... He has fooled MILLIONS of people. I say MMA is a great sport but is not the right diet for men or women in WAR.Though some of the techniques and principles could be incorporated IF done properly....

Story Of Ricky and Master Of The Flying Guillotine are some of the best I've seen. I also like the fighting choreography of Wo Ping Yuen movies (i.e. Drunken Master and Iron Monkey).

This film is a remake of the Shaw Brothers' classic, "Blood Brothers" starring Ti Lung, David Chiang and Chen Kuan Tai. The Warlords remake stars Jet Li, Andy Lau, and Takeshi Kaneshiro. While it is a good movie, it isn't worth $200.00. You should be able to get for about $10-15 in any Chinatown.

I have no criteria; a standard, rule, or test on which a judgment or decision can be based, for taking another human life. I am not an executioner and have not been empowered by the people to carry out justice. I do not personally decide to take a life I only choose to defend myself or someone else. If in the act of self defense my attacker dies, it is regretful. I believe human life is ...

Good topic...All Western Martial artists (traditionalists included) owe much to Mr. Lee.....even if they don't recognize it. The list is long, but a line he wrote into a "Longstreet" TV script in the early Seventies has always been an incredibly important thing for me to strive for (in EVERY aspect of my life): "Be water...."
