Why does it seem like so many more flight schools use Cessna single engine trainers than the Piper single engine trainers? I have about half of my single engine time in Cessnas (172's) and half in Pipers (Cherokee, Arrow), but if given the choice between the two, I'd pick to fly a Piper. Other people that I have talked to that have flown them both seem to prefer the Pipers too. I know that ...

Anyone own their own light aircraft. I'm thinking of getting one and was curious about the joys of ownership. I would appreciate any advice, comments, or warnings about what to do or not do! I'm open to anything from Cubs to light twins. Thanks!

These programs are open to Rated Lt Colonels and below; therefore not everyone who expressed interest will be eligible to apply. Officers recalled under these programs will be used in a myriad of positions to include: ...

I'm about to begin training a CFI and CFII applicant as a freelance instructor to supplement my low paying cargo job . This is the first CFI/CFII candidate I have taught and was wondering if anyone knew where I can find good Lesson plans. I have not had any luck searching online for them. I know its not common to instruct a CFI applicant outside of a flight school so any help would be greatly ...

Hey AirTran guys, Can I ask why AirTran pilots chose ALPA over teamsters or other unions? I would think ALPA is a much better choice, in my oninion. But I would like to hear other opinions on why this was pefered and relay this information to my fellow coworks. Thanks

I have been swimming in the UPS pool for almost 1.5 years now. I am thrilled to be in the pool and consider myself lucky. But.... I am about to lose my flying job through the DHL/ABX fiasco and am concerned for my future. I was wondering if anyone would have the answers to the following questions: 1. What has UPS done in he past with the long-time poolies? Hire/re-interview/dump?...

Here is what I did. My trip had a 27 hour layover then a deadhead. So I came home a day earlier on the same two flights. The problem was the second flight was $200 bucks more yesterday than it was going to be today. The first flight was on Jet Blue and the connecting flight was NWA/Delta. My bank was $500 bucks. So I jumped on the Jet Blue flight and bought a $440 dollar ticket to ...

CPT D. forwarded this to me so I'll pass it on. I think there were 41 disputed PR's in the MEM MD-11. Looks like on the Capt's side there are 4 left. The thing that really gets me is, that most of the trips are the ones that break 8 in 24 and fly Mem to the SEA,PDX,OAK in the same day. These are crap trips, are people really that desperate? It's really sad
