I had a buddy do pretty much what you are suggesting. It worked out for him, he logged several hundred hours and a large part of his time was payed for by other by other time builders using his airplane. But he was an in a constant state of anxiety, since any major Mx problem would turned the economics of the deal upside down. he sold the thing as fast as he could after he got an airline job.

There are some good older twins out there, it's just that the risks are too high for all but a few people to undertake. Another anecdote. Have another friend who bought a mid-70's turbo Seneca to build time, and it turned out to be a solid airplane in every respect. He built the time quickly, got hired by X-Jet, made captain and is about as happy as a lifer regional pilot can be. However, he put that airplane on the used airplane...

Hey everyone! Thanks in advance for the advice.
I am considering going to flight school with the goal of becoming an airline pilot. Unfortunately, I made a stupid decision while I was in college and was arrested for a DUI. The charge was reduced to Negligent Driving (basically, endangering myself or others with alcohol being involved), but I did have my drivers license suspended for 90 ...

Although the title sounds yes or no this is a serious question. I have some money coming to me and I am thinking of starting a mulit engine time building program and offering multi engine ratings. Like an all inclusive 15 hour program for a fixed cost. I have seen other programs online and have heard to stay away from places like ari-ben aviator because they do not cover fuel away from their base...

A Pinnacle CA friend was recently suspended for 2 weeks without pay for refusing an airplane without an autopilot. Contributing factors to the decision were:
-No autopilot, scheduled block just over 2 hours
-Scheduled departure 10:16pm
-Destination wx 600 OVC, RA, winds gusting 25kts, 60 degrees of crosswind
-Line of thunderstorms between origination and destination
The CA ...

Republic is getting good at shutting down airlines with operating certificates. Just announced it will shut down Lynx and shutter all Q400 operations by mid-September. First cuts in early April. Feel very sorry for the Lynx people who are affected and can't latch on with Frontier or Republic.

Ok, now that I have heard this from three independent sources, thought I would throw it out there and chum the rumor waters.
1. We bought more 777's and/or are accelerating deliveries THIS YEAR.
2. Relatively large bid forthcoming for 777 and 757....Feb/Mar timeframe.
Any others hearing this?

Just turned down another draft for MEM 300 F/O seat, and the SAME chick picked it up again To make matters worse, she is the most senior Airbus F/O on the property. If she needs the money that bad, why doesn't she just upgrade? She's more senior than half the Captains.

I saw this ad on willflyforfood.com and instantly became sick and angry. It is an ad asking for beginning flight instructors to come and fly for this school for no pay!!!!!!! Only room and board. The sad thing is they will probably have tons of instructors that will do it. What a career >$50K in debt then starting pay $0. What do you guys think?!?!
