Losing weight leads to an older face, study claims 02 Apr 2009 Sara McCorquodale Losing weight results in the ageing of the face, a study published in Plastic and Reconstructive Journal has found. Led by Dr Bahaman Guyuron at the University of Cleveland in Ohio, researchers found that being thinner ages us most. The team studied the faces of 200 twins over a period of two years to ensure their results could not be attributed to environment or...

I'm sooo interested in getting further education in Chemistry and Biology. I'd also love to hear from you James, you sound like a well of knowledge! I'm just out of school (getting my basic WA state esthetics license) two years and while I tried to pay attention during the Chemistry and Electricity chapters of Milady being taught in front of me, I still want to learn more and try to absorb some of it, especially since if you...

I use constant contact and I think it's great. Get one of us to "invite" you and WE BOTH get (I think) a $30 credit.

the retail experience
Published (2009-11-27 23:51:16)
Lapeau, that was really courageous of you to admit your weakness for all the retail marketing at NM to this forum! I'm teasing you big time, but it did remind me of something. Years ago I helped my best friend who had some rather ragged skin conditions exacerbated by living in a dry high-altitude climate and being a life long smoker. I got her on everything from cleansers to masks, to serums, Vit C, etc. Within a couple of weeks her...

Thanks for the tips! I am PCA Certified and noticed on the order form they have trial treatment sets that include the cleansers. I ordered one to get me started. I eventually want a microderm machine but in the mean time I am going to try out the manual microderm till I get some money saved up.

I use another service called Campaigner and it is very similar to Constant Contact - maybe a little cheaper. Either way, spending $20 a month to send out 1000 emails directly to your clients is a fantastic way to market. We send out eblasts at the beginning of each month detailing new products, services, specials and coupons. I agree with Plaza that some marketers send out too many emails and many get deleted so we stick to once a month and...

wow! what a story.
that you had this severe a reaction a week post-wax, surprises me. the back is a large area and there are a lot of oil glands. waxing unroofs/disturbs the
follicles, so reactions are common. I've seen folliculitis, pus-filled pimply-bumps and rash.
did you go swimming or do a jacuzzi after the wax?

If you've decided on skinceuticals and eminence, you're limiting yourself to two high-end lines. My problem with skinceuticals is that they seem to be
everywhere, and particularly at retail without much regard for a professional setting. However, the products are good. Eminence is a great line, but also
pricey. Nevertheless, I'm a big fan. I'd get at least one more line for contrast, both in ...

Not related to OTC product purchases, but on a similar note, I learned a lot about retailing after visiting the Hershey Spa at the Hershey Hotel this fall. I
had a Chocolate Facial, just about the fluffiest buffiest of the fluff n' buff facials. But I figured, while in Hershey, you get the Chocolate Facial.
First of all, you have to pay for the facial PLUS the mandatory 20% gratuity BEFORE ...

I don't market via email - the main reason is that personally, when I get an email blast, I usually delete it w/o reading it. I can't be bothered. Not
only that, but I do not collect email addresses from clients. Many, like myself, guard their addresses.
The exception to this is when I get a blast email from a product distributor. I usually check to see if there is anything I can take ...

Tia - There seems to be a trend toward "team based" compensation in the suburban Chicago area and it seems to be a concept that is being pushed by
salon and spa consultants. I am not sure how the compensation works but consultants are able to talk salon owners into this concept because they tell owners
the system will prevent clients from leaving their salon and spa when a technician or stylist ...

I love hydroxy acid!
it has been tried and tested for many years and imo is the best and safest way to stimulate CR, to continuously rebuild the skin from the ground up,
"fibroblasting" all the good stuff like Collagen, Elastin, elastic fibers, Glycosaminoglycans, Glycoproteins. Tell me what you want, no ingredient
out there can do that for our skin. We make it !!!!!!
And yes, as we get...
