HD write times during project...
Published (2009-12-14 15:29:00)
Hello, AWR downloads the pages into the RAM memory, parses the pages and then discards them, so no pages are written. The only HDD writes are done when the data is stored into the databases, which obviously cannot be avoided. Even so, we write the data using transactions, which means only once in a while the data is wrote in the database. Let me know if this clears things up. Best regards, Cristi

Add Website... Usability Issues

When adding websites from the Top Sites tab the usability has changed and worsened from previous versions of the software. a) Previously after choosing "Add Website...' from the popup menu users would be taken to the Project Settings window with the Website: entry field pre-populated and the option of editing the URL, choosing a color, and clicking the Add button. b) Now after choosing "Add Website..." from the...

Disable Google Personalized Search
Published (2009-12-11 18:30:00)
Hi AWR, This topic has come up again with Google. Previously, it seemed that "personalized search" only affected users who were logged in. Now it seems that "personalized search" impacts users based on the past 180 days of their search activity - - even if they are not logged in. There is a way to "opt-out" of this, though. However, it seems this personalization seems largely tied to click...

Published (2009-12-11 18:15:00)
Hi, Thank you for telling us about the chart problem. I have added it to our bug list. We shall fix it. About the top sites missing data, please force update the project. This will populate the Top sites report. On 11 Dec it has data just for one keyword (pflanzen-bewässerung and Google Austria). Anyway, the top sites should not be empty. For the other keywords that are not updated on 11, the 4 Dec update data should be displayed. We shall...

Hello, I need more information to see what happens. Can you please, send me an error report from this project using the [Report error] feature from the [Help] menu item? Also, please send us such a printable report to see the exact problem (you can send it at awrsupport@advancedwebranking.com ). This could help me see what the problem is. Best regards, Robert

Hello, I don't really understand what you want us to do. I mean, the chart shows graphs, not symbols. I suggest you use the following workaround. You can use color coding. When a keyword is added into a project, assign it a color that you will only assign for new keywords. When the keyword gets ranked, you will see a dot of that color appearing on your graph, so you know then that the keyword ...

We have added this to be able to select multiple URLS and add all of them with a single action, not selecting them one by one. Please tell me if this answers your question. Best regards, Robert

Hi Wojtek, There is no connection between the project categories and the scheduler. The problem is related with something else. Please delete the scheduled task from AWR and create it again. Set it to update one project in, let's say 5 minutes. If the project is not updated on scheduler, please send us a new error report to see what happened. Let me know how it goes. Best regards, Robert

Hi Leif, It is normal that the project which has over 3,000 domains, needs more time to be updated. Because the application checks all the results that are obtained from search engines with the websites you have in your project, to see if one of the domains returned by search engines are found in the websites you have in your project. You can imagine that this "matching" takes more time to ...

Hello, The Microsoft Windows 7 operating system is fully, officially supported by the latest Advanced Web Ranking release, so you should have no problems there. About the Ubuntu installation, you need to be sure that you have the JRE on 32-bit installed. All the other steps are the same as for any Linux version. Let me know if you encounter any problems. Best regards, Robert
