Oak, you probably know but H1N1 can manifest with only stomach symptoms (esp. in kids). And there is sometimes no fever. I've obviously been doing nothing but reading about H1N1 for days.... Just an FYI Take care of yourselves! I am VERY aware that E not being sick makes it easier. I hope your little guy feels better very very soon (and you too). xo

We had a busy weekend. My friends threw me a surprise shower on Friday night. I had told them NOT to do it. First because it's my 6th child, and second...because you never know what might happen. They of course could not resist...and it was very nice. Yesterday Bella and I finished the nursery. Everything is there and ready...just waiting for 'baby' as we call her!!

Okay, whew! Until I figured out what the show is actually about, I thought y'all were talking about the reality love show with the bigger sized people! Nothing wrong with that, mind you, I am one! Just was a bit worried that Steph would be soooooo excited about this. LOL!

Healingfeeling, Your family never talked about it? To me that is simply strange. Talk about trying to hide an elephant in the middle of the room. Although in a way, not thinking of you as adopted is a good thing but not to acknowledge that you were someone else before you joined your family, just brings up thoughts about how we were supposed to be just 'blank slates'. By chance is your aunt an Ann Coulter fan? Kind regards, Dickons

Thanks for the advice. I just email both his and my cw. They are both on vacation next week so they will not see it for another week . He has full days visit for Thanksgiving and Friday ( 8 hrs per day). The weekend visits begin the week after next. It has been a rough weekend for him.

Hi, Our son, adopted more than 3 years ago, is the light of our lives. Korea is a great program. The only issue to wonder about is that some of the larger agencies are no longer accepting new families, and others have long waits, due to increasing domestic adoptions in Korea plus decreasing birthrates. Good luck! MM

Beth wrote: "I hope she finds out she was adopted and was never told Do ya think she'd think about adoption then!" She would probably see it as proof that her ideas were right on the money. After all, look at how she has excelled in life. Unmarried with no children? Guess that definitely makes her an expert on, well, everything. Right? Uh, can you say narcissist?

We were registered in Nov 2008 with our agency telling us 9 to 18 months. However, I can find no evidence of any babies coming out of BG. I'm pretty frustrated at this point. I asked the agency if we should adjust our expectations as to the time frame, but they just said they "hope" it will be in 2010. Great...hope helps me a lot. BTW, we are adopting a girl, as young as possible.

Our son's birth name was John and I wanted to name him after my dad who is John David. I didn't think that my husband would go for it, so I approached him with the idea to name him after both grandfathers. After 16 years, I thought I knew my husband well enough and I was certain that he would reject my first idea and counter offer to just John David, which was what I really wanted anyway....

I know nothing about cameras either, but I do know that SLR stands for single lens reflex and from what I can gather just basically means that the view you see through the viewfinder is the same one that will be in a photograph. I don't know any more than that. My hubby and I have a Sony Alpha (I think) and he really likes it. The pictures come out looking really good and it's easy for me to ...

I don't have advice, but want to make one point. You might notice that one of the recent threads started with saying something like, "I haven't been here lately because everything has been going GREAT, but now I have a question..." The people for whom things are going really well are less likely to be seeking support, so don't take the threads here as a representative sample of foster ...

I put in an offer on a short sale when I was buying my home a year ago and all I can say is be careful. In my case, I was lucky because I didn't have to put in any money, but it was still a stressful process that ended unsuccessfully. When I put my offer in, the seller's agent told my agent that the bank had been very close to approving the sale at the same price I was offering for another ...

I think a warm bath is a great idea. And chicken soup. Seriously. Studies show it helps with symptoms, probably because it is warm, liquid and the sodium helps keep you hydrated. I hope you get better soon. It sounds terrible!
