I am competing in my second half-marathon on Saturday morning and I am psyched to be COMPLETING 13.1 miles.? I won't be fast and it won't be pretty but I will finish - hopefully in about 2.5 hours.? This is what I know: for your homestudy you will need to submit your taxes, annual budget and a monthly budget. Credit history is a part of it, but I don't know to what extent. I know we have car loans, student loans, minimal credit card, etc. and we never even talked about it with our social worker or agency. The INTENT, I believe, is to see if you can financially support a child. Hope that helps!

Thanks Ronalee. I would want to punch them too ;) I have been PG and given birth, and trust me...I would much rather endure contractions with no meds and being cut open via c-section than endure the emotional CRAP I have been through this year in regards to adoption.

The national agencies that work in our state were Gladney, Bethany and IAC....we went to orientations for all 3 as well as some orientations for local agencies. When you are first looking cast you net wide :o) As you start to talk to different agencies you will get a better feel for what you are, and are not, looking for. I use ebates too :o) I signed up when I had to buy a car seat and one of the vendors linked to ebates was giving something like 15% cash back on the purchase....now is a good time to sign up because a lot of companies have increased the % cash back for the holidays. Susan

Hi, Steppie. Just coming here is a great step. These ladies help support me when I'm sad and help celebrate when I'm happy! Otherwise I try to keep busy, lean on my husband, exercise when I'm feeling up to it, etc. I can't promise that I always do all of those things, but they're in my arsenal!

Any chance of them waiving that 6 month wait in lieu of the time she's been with you? We were told that if our current foster placement (which is a reunification) ever went to adoption - they would waive the 6 month wait due to the amount of time they have spent with us.
