I am type A, so maybe not the best person to ask. I started our portfolio well before our homestudy paperwork and then turned it all in together. It took about 2 months from the first homestudy paperwork being mailed until our final paperwork was done. It depends on who you use (agency vs. social worker). Our renewal just took 2 weeks. If you want help on your portfolio, let me know. We used www.shutterfly.com and kept ordering paperback...

Hi April and welcome to board! This board will be a huge support for you as you start your new journey to a family. I am the mom of twin boys adopted through domestic infant adoption, they will be two on New Years Eve! Adoption is amazing and congratulations on getting your paperwork in the mail that is a big hurdle that you can check off the list! Keep us posted we love to hear updates

We started our adoption process in February, and spent some time looking at different agencies and researching different adoption options. Then we went to our orientation with our agency in June. And were approved in October. So, if you count all the investigation time it took 10 months, but if you just count the time for the paperwork and homestudy it took 5 months (note: our homestudy was rescheduled by the agency 3 times, and that slowed...

These also make a great way to update your child's birth mom/family. We do one of these for "M" and make a copy for ourselves, too. Great way to always be up-to-date with the record-keeping, baby-booking (for those of us not scrapbook inclined). I like the idea that we have the same book she does.

Dulcinea is having her post-op visit at Children's Hospital on Dec 2. We have to be at the hospital at 6:15 in the morning because there are doing another MRI with her under sedation. I am trying to stay calm. The neurologist will be checking to make sure her shunt is working properly and that the mysterious fluid pouch they found on her spine is dissolved. If it is not then I don't know ...
