Wow, what an interesting thread...and I've learned stuff I didn't know. I thought I was pretty much up on my English culture. Ah, well. Now, y'all - yes I'm a southern belle, so my American accent (I use the term, some don't) does have a bit of a twang to it - are breaking my heart with this not caring for American women bit. I am totally with Bree - a man is instantly more attractive when ...

I'm starting a novel that has a character who knows how to fly aircraft. She's a young woman in her 20's and her father, who is a pilot, taught her to fly. The first problem is that they are black, not much job opportunity to become a pilot back then; but I am under the impression that some blacks went to fight for France early in the war and he could have become a pilot there. Is this true?...

Incase you don't want to read the story behind the question (below), here it is: How would police/coroner react to the second death of a person with no apparent COD four days after the first death, that happens in the exact same place as the first one? I'm curious for opinions on both how police would react immediately upon arriving after the 911 call (I have it as being the same officers--they ...

Hello! I need some infos on what hobbies would young people (late teens-early 20's) have in the 1930's-1940's. Considering that for some years during that era WWII was going on, I guess that some hobbies and games were fairly simple. What board games existed during that time? Was Monopoly invented? How about MillesBornes? Which card games were popular? Marbles would be for smaller kids, ...

Hi William, Can you do the dirty work for me as far as finding my poems. All of them are from the poetry game, and there aren't many. Thanks!

This is usually a car game, but I've modified the rules to make it work on the forum. It's all about names. The category is ENTERTAINER, which I broadly define as actors, singers, writers. I also like to include movie directors, so someone like Steven Spielberg or the Watchowski brothers would count. Every post MUST have a first and last name (sorry Cher). The next post will use the ...
