I don't really understand what you mean about the irony, but I did read up on the establishment of Israel as a bonafide state where any Jews would be welcome if another country's leader like Hitler came into power.    Sigh....they established a homeland so that they would have a safe haven.  Until the Palestine situation is settled, their haven isn't exactly safe, is it?   ce   Carol
