I am about to setup a 7 PC build for a dentist here in town. 1 PC is server and 6 of them are client PC,s They use a software called Dentrix, Every pc must be networked together as well as dentrix data base. I used windows 7 ultimate for this and have high hopes the networking part will go smooth. Already done my homework on this, so my advice is Windows 7 business or ultimate. Installis in a few days, Ill let ya know how it goes.

amd athlon firmware update?
Published (2009-11-11 11:18:00)
Not knowing what motherboard you have but, usually can update straight to the latest version. Important! Make sure the motherboard revision is the correct one for the BIOS version you are going to update. Failing this, may kill the board. This info is usually in the release notes of the BIOS.

Nope, ill keep my 955 just in case. Strait up cash for the 965 BE lol, yeah I'm thinking along the same lines as you. My 955 won't be returned until I've fully tested the 965...always have a backup plan!

New Catalyst interface sux0rz ?

I find the older Catalyst driver interface (in advanced mode) much more easy to use and more intuitive then the new one found in the latest 9.x drivers. What are your thought on this ?

Well, almost happy... I checked my RMA status online, and it shows the re-stocking charge (which I am going to ask if they can waive), and it also shows two charges for a combo discount and some other instant discount I got when I bought the original 965. I've emailed my customer service rep back to see if she can waive those charges too, as I still have the motherboard and RAM that I bought with the original processor and got the combo...

Published (2009-11-11 16:50:00)
The PSU is an Earthwatts 500W, came with the Antec case. If, as I suspect, the ram is incompatible with the mobo, then there's no memory for it to POST, correct? If that is the case, then I'm SOL till I replace the memory. That would mean a wait of a few more days, but at least I won't have to have the board replaced too. I'll eventually save some dollars, despite having to pay the restocking fee, since the compatible...

Hey man, I have never had an issue with Skype and I have just about all my customers running Skype now.
But, none of my Skype customers are running 7 yet.
Is the Device Manager all good?
Have you tried sound recorder with your mic to verify that it is actually working and not a Skype / driver issue?
Good luck

I have 4870 X2's with CCC v9.10 installed and I don't have that feature option either....only AAA.
You are talking about this correct??
EXAMPLE
You have peaked my curiosity though....what does "AAMode" do differently than "AAA"?

Always... ALWAYS! do a clean install
you can do a clean install with the upgrade discs, but it requires a few dance moves to be done.

My thoughts....
When I had that x300 installed for a while...CCC9.6(IIRC) was horrible!, I hate to say this, and I know some pyromaniac out there is going to want to burn me alive for this...but when it comes to a friver suite setup, nVidias Control Panel is a good example! ATi should learn from it, and adapt it. NCP is far from perfect, but it's as close to perfect that I have seen.

Orn, that was just me taking a stab at humor more than anything else. I just forgot to add a "LOL".
As far as pin/no pin compatibility, that's where the processor adaptor (which would fit the specific type of processor) as stated above comes into play. Mating the processor to the MB via a socket adaptor (as far as pin/no pin processor type) I don't see as a big problem. Now getting the ...
