Quote from: TheRoof on November 27, 2009, 09:09:27 pm Personally from all the people here, when do you usually take your meds at night or in the morning. I would hope one would realize that most regimens aren't the once-a-day starter kit offered to the newly diagnosed.

Quote from: Dale Parker on November 27, 2009, 02:35:28 pm The movie that does it for me is the documentary on Freddie Mercury of rock band Queen fame. I've always loved Queen's music. Towards the end of the documentary Freddie's lover says "at the end Freddie was in a lot of pain". That phrase not only sends a shiver down my spine it actually haunts me. I can be doing...

Atripla - A miracle?
Published (2009-11-27 22:13:00)
You shouldn't let the Atripla experience give you concerns over other drugs causing immediate unbearable side effects. The one drug most likely to cause these kinds of side effects is Atripla, because of Sustiva. All of the other top-of-the-line, latest HIV drugs are very bearable with minimal if any immediate side effects. Are you on antibiotic prophylaxis so you can avoid OIs as much as possible?

Yes, mucho thanks to Joe, Ann and Tim (and Jan, for her understanding). I'm so glad we'll have some definite guildelines, and Ann, you making clear to hit the report button instead of handling it ourselves was well said. And especially thanks to fellow LTS'ers for making this happen.

Thanks everyone for the encouragement - it helps having the experience of everyone on here to turn to; I feel better about the CD4 now. I still plan to post something about treatment with the added concerns of diabetes and blood pressure in the Treatment & Side Effects forum to see what the experience of folks with all of it has been. I go back to the ID on Dec. 14 - hopefully by then the diabetes and blood pressure will be better...

I'd also like to thank the mods for their understanding and empathy for the LTS forum. Their realization that for many of us, the LTS forum is an important and emotional outlet. More importantly, I would like to thank all the LTS who shared their feelings, raw, reasoned or otherwise. You made the difference. I do have to admit I had to chuckle a couple of times when we forced poor Jan's knickers into a twist.

Atripla - A miracle?
Published (2009-11-27 22:41:00)
Hmm why are you waiting? As to the viral load impact of today's haart, ask your ID to draw you the curve - to explain about log drops. Its very quick and easy to knock high viral loads down to the low thousands, as you have seen. The viral load drops by logs. Afterwhich it can take its own time to get to undectable. I think the long haul your ID refers to is rebuilding your CD4. In any event, good luck with the next try...

You didn't have a risk of contracting HIV but STDs can be transmitted by oral sex.

This situation is like identical to mine. I was real close friends with this one guy, we always had fun. Partying, road trips. Then told him about my Rape, My Hiv+ Status. After I told him, I would sometimes ask him more "philosophical meanings of life" and just basically talk about "Life". Kind of like in your situation. He slowly stopped communicating with me. Because he wasn't ...

Since I've always believed that the people infected at the start of this epidemic are having a different life dealing with this disease and the treatments than the people that were infected literally decades later, and those are two radically different groups of people with different treatment/therapy regimens, I like the new proposal.

I'm 19, except I got HIV through Rape. Got it recently too. This is what a nurse told me when I was diagnosed. Remember; Take care of yourself, eat healthy. Exercise, Protein, Vitamins, and when time comes you just take your meds. We are young and chances are we will be fine because at least we have our youth to keep us strong. Things are improving in science, and because we are ...

I assume when you say recreationally that you mean at the local gym and the likes. The only arena I know for sure that HIV can impede you from partaking in is the pro sport of boxing.. and possibly some of these pro mixed martial arts competition which are now the rage. Tommy Morrison's career was cut short after he tested positive for HIV.

Quote from: Moffie65 on Yesterday at 04:15:12 pm I guess I should say that all are invited to answer in this thread, as it is important for me to see what people who have been HIV+ for just a short time have to say and feel about this subject. however, if those people are already staying away from this forum, we'll never get their opinions. my opinion of an LTS: "long-term" ...

I used to "visualize" an army of CD4 cells attacking my HIV viruses. And then drifted off to sleep using healing meditation. I still have a copy of the cassette tape sold by those two guys who said they had cured themselves of HIV and ....then died. Will Garcia and George Melton. On the front of the cassette it says: HEALING MEDITATIONS...

Had one back in the late 1990's. I know your pain. Fissures are worse than kidney stones (i've had both), or can be worse as far as the pain goes. And many doctors miss finding them on exam, so you suffer and are given junk like stool softeners or prepH, or told to maintain a high fiber diet. None of which will ever make things better. It took me 8 months of pure hell to get diag back ...

Netta Now THAT is a funny thread title. HOLY CRAP THE "HOLY"Days are comming. I like it!! And, that's how I feel about them---like a speeding train tearing through my calendar, they are coming and I'm going to host (not make all foods however) Thanksgiving dinner. I took it on as inspiration to prep the house. What a goofball idea that was---talk about an invitation to a stress party ...

I told this story to a friend who liked it so much, I gave him one of my family values stories... Being the first person in my family to go to college, it was a big deal. After my graduation, I was asked by Cousin Jim, "What did you learn at that there fancy college?" Well, I learned Pi are square. Cousin Jim scratched his head (which was a break for his crotch) and he said... "Pie ...
