On the flip side, I think we can all agree that acts of terrorism are crimes. As ATF SAC said, the definition of terrorism varies. We do not have one universal definition - unfortunate.

The primary vs. secondary will IMO, fly in face of the MSPB decision. If agencies go that way, litigation will continue and again IMO, ultimately prevail. Can't be a little bit pregnant here. Either Vets HAVE the preference via the decision or they don't. Should be interesting to see how it develops.

Well folks, I got the thin letter today (it really is a very thin letter). Inasmuch as I did not successfully complete the preliminary processing stage, no further action can be taken regarding my application for employment. The letter came from the Polygraph Unit, so I can only assume that my fears regarding that day were well-founded. I will put another call in to my AC to see if there is anything else that can be done (I realize it...

Hey people I have a quick question:
If I take a non federal law enforcement job as a GS 12 how would that effect things if I was hired by DEA?
Would I keep my GS 12 or would I come in as a GS 7 at a higher step?
Or would it not effect things at all?
Thanks for the help.

Get a Ruger LCR revolver and shoot .38+P's. I wouldn't trust my life .380's out of a micro auto (all .380 autos I have shot have had cycling issues or feeding issues with HP's).

I recently relied heavily on information from this site to help put me in a position to provide a little more insight on USAID OIG and some of the opportunities available for experienced criminal investigators.
To fill in some of the blanks from my previous research on the site about USAID OIG:
1. The agency has between 20 and 25 special agent positions. These positions are filled ...

Committee has cleared Southers and he proceeds to his final hearing on 11/10. That should be a softball appearance and he's GTG as TSA Administrator.
No impact yet at TSA HQ. As in any new appointment of this type, careerists are hunkering down and waiting to see what side they're supporting in a definitive reorg.
They really DO need some leadership.

I highly recommend looking at SAMBA. $20 co-pay, cost is comparable or
better than most other plans, and their quality ratings always run higher
than most. Standard plan is very good IMO.

How many announcements a year does ICE have for entry level Special Agent recruiting? I keep seeing people post about 08 group 1, 2, & 3, and they got me all confused. I tested off the June 22 09 announcement, so I know that will make me a 09 tester, but is there a specific group?
