Opera is not a replacement for Mozilla/Firefox. Opera is always ahead of the game when it comes to new technology and it depends which version you're using as to what you'll get. Just a recommendation, but why don't you compare the IE settings on your wife's computer to your IE settings? Just make sure that you both have the same version. I also fixed a similar issue to day at work.
