Pistons for displacement upgrade...

This sounds like a combo I could live with as even the E60 AMG used the shorter 149mm rod of the short deck engine. Anytime you can put together a better combo than AMG did you're doing pretty good. I was under the false impression that this engine was going to be using an offset ground stroker crank with a stroke even longer than 94.8mm. That's why I added the words: "it gets worse if you stroke it" in my earlier post. Has...

Thanks for the info. Motor and tranny mounts verified okay. The struts alone are about $300 +install = $800+. The bushings are probably $100 installed each and there are probably 2 or 3 per side = $600. 2.5k does seem a little high.

Fuel pumps
Published (2009-12-02 05:23:02)
Dernt, I am using fuel adjustable pressure regulator and fuel pressure gauge for my 500E with wide band O2 sensor, logger and diagnosis tester for setting Of course the injector size is different. Every fuel modification must need re-mapping EP-ROM for good result. The LH is very old fashioned tech and it is easy for re-mapping, if you or your mechanics would have some special mapping tools and logger. NIIBE

NEW DRIVING LIGHT LENSES
Published (2009-12-01 00:00:00)
Austin, Sorry for the late reply, I only checked in once on Friday and missed your response. I had started looking at the Lamin-X web site. I thought I should be getting the $54.95 package for the head light and fog lights. Can you confirm that? Also did the 4"x 72" strip cover the whole bottom lip of your fascia? Did you install everything yourself or have it done professionally? The lights look pretty easy but I don't know...

Bosch are available on ePay for $95 each. I'll check MB and some of the import parts stores, but I want to stick with OE, and $95 sounds reasonable.

Cheers, the fact is that I cant believe that no one is really taking this engine seriously (as in the aftermarket industry) as it has soo much potential, I guess its due to a very limited market, but theres still a market. Im starting work on a M112 based SC kit now university has finished.

I had something that sounded very similar, it turned out to be the cross brace / reinforcement that goes between the frame rails underneath, it has 2 hex head bolts on either side that if a little loose will cause what you are describing.

Probably a good idea to just replace your upper strut mounts, balljoints, control arm bushings, steering shock, and drag link if they haven't been done in the past 5+ years.

I really wanted to get behind this group buy thing but I've just been so overwhelmed with this move. Plus the 8 cars and 3 trucks... I'm sure you all have noticed I haven't been on the forums much lately. It's been so long since I've been on Uncle Gerry's site it won't even let me log in.
I am still on board to participate in a group buy but others are gonna have to spread the word....

Most companies like this (Brabus included) have never been customer service oriented. They are used to big dollar buyers and save what little CS they have for the big spenders.
I tend to boycott vendors like this, it sends a solid message to them, too bad the big spenders don't.

Guys,
I have removed my lower front air dam from the car to have it professionally re-painted. It is in the painters hands as I write this. I expect to get it back this Sunday.
I intend to replace the lenses for the driving lights also. Looking at the lenses they appear to be glued on. I would say that I will have to take a razor blade and cut thru the gasket to get the old ...
