A little old man shuffled slowly into an ice cream parlor and pulled himself slowly, painfully, up onto a stool... After catching his breath,he ordered a banana split. The waitress asked kindly," Crushed Nuts ?" " No" He replied,"Arthritis."

You can get by with the front one sans sec. air valve,, but I doubt you can run two without the valves. Should have a severe bog without both.

Yellow wagon, I assume you are build ing a cruser and not a racer, if so, I would stay away from big lumpy race cams. They are a pain for street use. Comp has the thumper cam which give you a racey sound, but are streetable. I went with Isky Z-66 grind in my 409, solid lifter, 268 deg. duration on IN. & Ex. 520 lift with 1.7 rockers (little more with 1.75 rockers) Lash .20-.20 hot. I like it, (I ...

I knew it was in the works Mark!!! Roger Gustin sold Autostar recently....... to a group of drag strip owners is what I was told. Figured they would change the schedule. Indy was IT in the 80's and 90's. When I went back this year with Hayden and the car............. the turnout was pathetic!!! The rain had something to do with it but people would HAVE shown up in the old days!!!!

Nice find Tom. As I read, I was afraid you were going to say that the machine shop decked the block. But all is well. BTW, I could have save you a lot of trouble. Just find a 250 Hp 3 spd block with the F code and add the H. I have the stamp.
Now, all you need is a 61 Impala 2 door sedan. With a little luck you should be able to find one.

You would be suprised to learn that some of the stuff that you're looking at isnt made by either Classic or Year One. Both are repackaging other MFG stuff.
Both are good companies. Both sell quality stuff... Shop for best value

It's hard to determine if a particular vehicle was made with a specific engine or not for that year Chevy. The cowl tag will not tell you which V8 was original to the car, but it will tell whether it carried a six cylinder or a V8.
If you are so lucky as to have a well preserved 1962 Biscayne that has what you believe to be the original 409 engine in it, then the detective work gets more...
