awesome DIY how-to.. thanks to all who advised me that it may not be the crank seal. i started the car and looked from the TOP this time and it definitely was the housing seal. Heading to the dealer now.. The ti will be leak free in a few hours..

e36 M3 rotors/calipers

They won't fit. You need atleast 17's to fit them and in some applications such as mine (17" e39 style 5's) they rubbed on the inside of the wheel center due to new brake pads bringing the calipers all the way out on the carriers.

Battery Drain Issue - Page 3 -...

Thanks John Do you know if the system (main) relay should be on when the car is sitting in the parking lot? This relay on my car is #3 and is always engaged when the car is sitting with everything off It has two solid big red wires going to it and one big solid red/white and a thin brown/white. If the car is running and I pull it the car dies and DME has no voltage... It this possibly the relay for the alternator that is engaged all the time?

Cool. One thing I found is the rear seat belts in our cars work pretty well with kids, the seat is small enough and the belts low enough that when they are just getting too big for the car seat they fit pretty good. My 12 year old is starting to complain about rear leg room now though... Dave

Just so you know, E39 wheels require hubcentric rings and usually a fender roll/stretched tires on the E36.

The Line lock is just a valve in the brake line. Note for staging you need two one for each front brake. I'd pull the ABS fuse when racing. They also don't release as fast as you would think. There is a very slight delay. There are also two types, one is held closed by electricity, one is cocked by the electrical signal and you have to pump the brakes to release it. Hope this helps...\ Dave

Seibon Carbon Fiber Hoods Defective To all 318ti owners, please review the following email exchange between myself and Seibon Carbon "Customer Support". We all know that the hoods for our cars is the 4-door sedan version. I bought a new Seibon Carbon fiber hood, e36 4-door sedan version, which turned out to be a defective POS. Instead of addressing the issue, the person...

So I recently picked up an incredibly clean '97 318ic a couple months back. Just over 98k miles now. Took it through DEQ about a month ago and was told it had a bad cam position sensor. But it was still running fine, so I ordered one. A couple days later was coming home from a friends place and it started missing, and died 3 times. Was able to get it home OK. So as soon as I get the sensor,...
