Folks: I'm going just a bit crazy trying to "find my settings." I have a 14 minute program - HDV 1080i (FCP 5 btw)- which I'd like to upload to Google Video. I have tried many (many) different variations in Compressor, after exporting unmodified HDV QT Self-Contained Movie from FCP, and nothing looks good. Google Video says: - MPEG4 (mp3 or mp4 audio) at 2 mbps - MPEG2 (mp3 or ...

Hello, This seemed to be the most appropriate place to post this problem. I have a G5 computer with a ATI 9600 radeon video card. I keep getting artifacts on my computer screen (LCD). Sometimes it just looks like a little distorted glitch and sometimes it will cut out a little square and allow the window below the current one to show through. I have tried different monitors, dvi ...

i'm working w/more than 2 audio tracks in my source material. i'm trying to find a quick way to send tracks three and four from my source material to different tracks on my sequence. is there a keyboard shortcut for targeting audio tracks 3, 4, etc? f7 and f8 only work for targeting tracks one and two on my source clips (unless i'm mistaken).

Handbrake is a good program, really intense. You can manipulate all of the little settings, and there's a free pc version out there. Can't remember where. Is there no other way to filter the video to get rid of the copyright protection than to buy an $80 filter? Does anyone know any backyard way around this? I just want to rip little clips of DVDs to show to my students, that's all....

I'm trying to sync up several audio clips but nudging them by single frames isn't a small enough increment to get them "bang on", regardless of whether snapping is on or off. Is there a smaller increment to allow me to freely shift these clips around? TIA

Hey everyone!! I'm trying to find out whether my computer and software is going to handle my footage. The film is shot on Sony750 HDCAM and we're using HDcam deck for capture. I have a PowerBook G4 with Final Cut Studio 1 installed on it and need to perform offline edit of above footage. Will it work???

I need the template to fit a standard 720 x 480 NTSV DV to match all the other things i have that only look right at that 720 x 480. Im kinda a newbie so there may be something im overlooking. I have a scene from motion in 720 x 480 that was exported and the original .motn file was lost and now I want to add the template into FCP to follow my original animation and it goes from a square SD ...

Hello All, I have been trying to capture 29.97 DVCPro50 footage from a Panasonic SD93 deck to FCP, and I keep getting a "General Error" message with no details. I have tried various capture presets, tried a DV25 tape of the same footage, tried both batch capture and capture now, and I get the same error message. I know from reading past posts there have been sync issues with the SD93, but ...

I did a search and have read a gazillion posts about time remapping but one thing is still eluding me that i'm hoping someone can shed some light on. I understand fully how the whole thing works in regards to the velocity etc, but cannot figure out how to constrain the In an Out points of a clip. For example, i have a 5 minute clip but only want to remap a 10 second piece of said clip. So, ...
