I just bought a 7/01/08 bobtail yesterday and I clean her today but I have one question on reassembly. Does the slide stop go through the barrel link? Thanks Bri

So I went to a nearby Army Surplus store and they had a few new 1911 mags. One was a Mec-Gar 11 rounder and the others were Triple K 7 rnd mags. So what is the story behind these cheapo mags? lunyou

Is it acting crazy for everybody else? I tried going to it at home, and got a bunch of computer virus messages. It then tried running software that I denied. Just tried it at work to see if my computer is jacked up, and got the same thing.

What tool is used to cut down the barrel for that semi recessed look? I assume it could just be milled/lathed down a few thousanths to match the bushing with the mill but I wanna make sure there's not some taboo on that? The most important part of this is what do I use to recut the crown that I see on all the nicer pistols. Looks like 40-60* chamfer or maybe my eyes fool me. looked around ...

So I'm 27, meaning that I was 13 when the 1994 gun ban was passed. I wasn't raised in an anti-gun family by any means, but my mom and dad were "ex hunters" by the time I was self aware enough to realize what was going on in politics. I guess the story went that my mom didn't want guns around with a couple children crawling about. I got "into" guns when I was 21. My parents thought I was off my ...

Just got back from the range. I put 100 rounds of RA45T through the CBOB with NO FAILURES. So I've put 150 rounds total of RA45T through the CBOB with two FTFs. The difference this time is I shot the first 100 with RA45T while CBOB was clean. So the CBOB just might like the RA45Ts, next time at the range I'll do another 100 but its getting expensive!!!! Put 100rds of WWB no ...

I tested 50 new practice rounds today, and they won't feed worth a darn! These are for the Hornady 200 grain FMJ, 'Combat Target' shown here: From Hornady Manual (6th edition) for 200gr FMJ-C/T ENC (bullet #45157) C.O.L. = 1.245" Powder Titegroup grains fps 4.8 800 5.2 850 5.5 900 5.9 950 (MAX) I'm very pleased with how they feel, they ejected all 50 in a ...

.45ACP, 200SWC I worked up a good load with Unique, throwing each load by hand. Now that the load is good, I fill the RCBS despenser and start throwing loads. However Unique does not Meter well. I am getting fluxuationsas much as . 2 Low to .2 high, that is a veriance of .4 grains, which is way to much for the .45 ACP So my question; what is a good Powder that meters well ? Weighing...

I bought a Kimber Custom II in July 2007. It was my first 1911. While I always loved the looks and craftsmanship of LB pistols, I just couldn't get past the psychological hurdle of spending $1500+ on a gun. So I got the Kimber with the intention of using it for a while, and then maybe trading up one day. That plan didn't quite work out. Four months after I bought the Kimber I chanced ...

Tucker just introduced an inexpensive new kydex belt slide holster. We don't have a name for it yet and we'll award a $100 gift certificate to the forum member who comes up with the best name for our new holster . Just post your suggestion here before next Saturday, October 11th. That's when we'll announce the winner. Holster details: Inexpensive, best-quality kydex, ...

I am truly at a loss for words. I am 44 years old, a former Marine and was recently sitting in our American Legion and got into a political discussion with a young (35 years old) lady and her husband about the upcoming election. She is a social worker and she was in love with the change she believes Obama will bring. I tried to explain the difference between Obama's wealth redistribution (...

It is so hard to predict what will happen. I would like to see Oblama lose in a landslide. I think that's remote. I think that Congress and its <10% approval ratings will turn over considerably. If there is an incumbent letter in front of their name, I will furiously vote against them. I think that McCain will eek by because I just don't think that most thoughtful Americans (the...

I am wondering what everyones instant grab 100% trust in the gun long arm is. What do you have ready? I love ARs as much as the next guy but will have to say, my 870 Express gets the nod over my AR for defense anyday. I have never had any problems with my 870 (after the 1st outing), it runs dry and wet, buckshot and slugs are some of my favorites etc... ARs are AWESOME but they seem to be a ... | |
