I don't have any complaints about my Springer 2 piece, but the S&A is my favorite. Fusion IIRC is a 2 piece also. I'm just not a big fan of 2 piece YMMV.

Not all change is good "There's an old sea story in the Navy about a ship's captain who inspected his sailors, and afterward told the chief boson's mate that his men smelled bad. The captain suggested perhaps it would help if the sailors would change their underwear occasionally. The chief responded, "Aye, aye sir, I'll see to it immediately!" The chief went straight to the sailors berth deck and...

Any of them will be good. I have 2 Double Star lowers and they are comparable to my Bushmaster and DPMS lowers. They have a nice even finish and the machining is good. There are relatively few AR lower manufacturers (5-6 major companies maybe?), everyone just stamps their name on the side.

Good write up! I just picked one up too!
Was having some issues and I figured them out. The area of the slide where the disconnector rides, the disconnector ramp I guess you might call it? Anyway I put some oil there and cycled mine about 2,000 times while watching Sons of Anarchy and now the action is as soon as silk. Once it wore threw the finish there and polished itself smooth it was ...

It would seem that you have a perfect gun, and for only $1,000. Why would you complain? Why should they polish someplace that no one can see, other than to turn a $1,000 gun into a $1,025 gun?

New magazine?
Fully loaded?
Try one less round....
Springs on new magazines tend to be a little too stiff. They'll eventually take a "set" that'll work.
Keep the magazine loaded for a while....

here's some advice, but I don't guarantee that it's helpful. I recommend a Rock Island or STI Spartan. or, perhaps a Springfield GI, or Mil-spec if you want to upgrade over the base model.

This issue of securing weapons is a pet peeve of mine so excuse me while I rant.
It amazes me that there is still many gun enthusiasts that (for some unknown reason) chose not to own a gun safe. Can someone explain the logic...or better yet the irresponsibility of leaving guns around the house unsecured. I mean really....for $300-$800 you can get a nice safe that will make it nearly ...

The TRP package is exactly that, an upgrade to a customer supplied pistol.
It would be more economical to just buy a TRP in a shop over sending a Loaded in for the upgrade, but lets say you did not want FCS's. A Mil-Spec or GI could be sent in to equal the TRP specs yet have a different look.
I have seen a Mil-Spec upgraded to TRP specs on some forum but I can't remember where.

I wanta play!!
80% of the grips purchased by the members of this forum are bought with the express idea of taking and posting pics on here.
Folks buy multiple 1911's before they learn to shoot the first one.
Owning guns is important, not being able to shoot.
Some folks seem more concerned with surviving a trial then they do surviving a gunfight.
After your 2nd 1911 ...

You cannot get CT lasergrips to fit the Bobtail but models for the full length frame can be modified to fit.

Dunno what he is smoking but all the local shops seem to have the ones I look for on the shelves. Only ones hard to find in my area are springfield GI's and Mil-Specs.
