fucked if im rreading all that shite. bottom line is a k+n filter is worth getting for the fact it saves you the price of several filters over the lifetime of the bike. as a standalone performance mod with no further tuning its not worth getting and imo on a lot of bikes the k+n is a more restrictive filter than standard.

Ya, i have both air nd oil K&N's on my GSXr1000 and just makes response crisp..and helps the engine breath better.should be no need to adjust settings. The only differance i've seen in oil filters is the K&N have a non return valve inside to keep the filter full of oil so reduces time for oil to get to head of engine during start up , this is in most filters now but something to look out for

A brand new OEM air filter will allow enough air through to take the bike well up the revs before you start to see a pressure differential but a K&N will flow freely right to the limiter. Where you will notice a big difference is when the OEM filter has been installed for a while and the micro fibres start to clog. Then there's definitely a notable decrease in performance.

All i can say is, If your going to install a K&N make sure you open the airbox up so she can get more air, I have a thread somewhere here, About when i installed a custom system on the 660 a few months ago, It changed the bike for the better!.
