BrewBoard - honey RE: Honey malt in a Chai Beer?  Open this post in new window
I say go for it if the concentrate isn't already sweetened. Most Chai tea has a honey aroma to it which in my experience with honey malt is more prevalant than an actual honey taste. Any sweetness will ballance nicely against the roastyness of the chocolate malt.

Here you go. It looks like sugar syrup does get used to feed bees when food stores are low, especially in winter and after the honey has been removed from hives. The bees will convert the syrup to honey. Sometimes honey labels will just say wildflower honey or something generic like that.

I love honey, but in all honesty...don't know much about it. The only types of honey I usually buy are either clover, wildflower, or orange blossom...and I prefer "organic". Sorry...that's the extent of my honey knowledge.
