Wondering if anyone on here has made there own
grass patch before? I bought a big bag of Scott's
grass patch for $22 and after looking and reading it is nothing more then green dyed newspaper
mulch with
grass seed mixed in. I tried to plant
grass seed last spring...Kansas rains it grew only in the flat areas of my back yard. The
patch seems to work great since it holds water and sticks ...

...newspaper, dye it green and mix in some seed. I wouldn't bother with the dye, it washes off of the store-bought stuff before the
grass starts growing anyways I would mix in a bit of starter fertilizer for it, but again, at this time of the year with everything heating up, I dont think you are going to have much luck with
grass-
seed germinating. -Chris

I just planted some
patch a week ago and it is an inch tall now. I know heat is bad but only when you let the seed dry out and die. Sure the heat is one thing but if you have a nice wife who stays at home who can spray some water on it a few times throughout the day it should stay nice and
moist.

Seed the area and then put a light layer of hay over the top. Some seeds require light to
germinate, so make sure light can still penetrate the hay layer. The hay will quickly biodegrade and disappear. You could use
grass patch for the portion you want to be
grass, or just use hay there as well.

i have the original oblivion disc but she won't take
grass while using
