I've been looking at the merits of BJJ for a while and would like to give it a try, but can't find anywhere near me that does it. Does anyone know of a club in or near Southampton? It's really annoying me! I know of a good mma place, but would like to try bjj first before moving into mma (if that makes any sense) Thanking you kindly!

Oh dear god, i was joking... Very simply: Judo focusses on the stand up game, and throwing your opponent in impressive ways with some groundwork. BJJ focusses on the ground game, and submitting your opponent in impressive ways with some throws. They are both however grappling arts with an emphasis on "live" training.

If you can't find BJJ, then do its parent art, judo. Excellent substitute, and much cheaper too.

Anyone know of any clubs in the city? Moved here recently and trying to track down somewhere to carry on grappling training. I know VT Ju-jitsu in chippenham and bulldog in bournemouth and a couple of places in southampton. Anyone know of anymore in the vicinity i may not have heard about please?
