The opening scene on last night's Bones - a severed head two weeks dead and run over by a mulcher (!), shown closeup as the eyeball drops from the socket with live ants running around in the socket and on the stalk - dammit, Bones! I think standard prime-time network broadcast TV has now passed '50s horror comics and '70s slasher movies in terms of gross-outs.
